About Omnissa: Omnissa specializes in virtualization, cloud computing, and software solutions for efficient data center management, network virtualization, and end-user computing.

What's the story? Endpoints that are not adequately protected may compromise VDI environments with malware. Omnissa has partnered with OPSWAT to strengthen the security of VDI environments with a secure access flow that ensures control and restricted access to Omnissa Horizon's environment. Here’s what Omnissa’s Director of Product, Kristina De Nike, had to say about the solution and how it’s helping mitigate the risks associated with BYOD access.

With 82% of organizations having a BYOD program (Cybersecurity Insider 22), prioritizing security and compliance for diverse endpoints accessing corporate assets is essential. Kristina de Nike, Director of Product Management at Omnissa, highlights the significance of their partnership with OPSWAT in meeting customers' security demands.

Enabling Secure Access to VDI with MetaDefender IT Access

Omnissa's Horizon product, which focuses on virtual desktop infrastructure, has been instrumental in addressing the growing need to support remote access and scalability for organizations. However, ensuring the security of BYOD and third-party vendor access can be a complex task. This is where OPSWAT's MetaDefender IT Access solution comes into play.

When a user attempts to access Horizon, the Horizon client triggers the MetaDefender IT Access on-demand agent. This agent conducts a thorough assessment of the endpoint's posture, checking for compliance and security vulnerabilities against the organizations’ defined security policies. Based on this assessment, the user can see if the device is compliant, and seamlessly proceed. If not, the user will be taken to a remediation page showing the user how to resolve the security issue.
