OPSWAT Cookies Policy
Last Updated: February 6, 2025
This Cookie Policy explains how OPSWAT Inc. and its affiliates (collectively, “OPSWAT,” “we,” “us,” and “our”) use cookies and similar technologies when you visit, interact with, or use any of our websites, social media pages, online advertisements, or marketing communications (our “Sites”) or our cloud applications where linked to this Cookies Policy (our “Services”).
This Cookie Policy explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed onto your computer or device as you browse the Internet. Cookies can be used to collect, store, and share bits of information about your activities across websites, including on our Sites and Services. Cookies also allow us to remember things about your visit to our Sites and Services, such as your preferred language and other choices and settings, and generally make our Sites and Services easier for you to use.
We use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie is used to identify a particular visit to a Site or Service. These cookies are stored in temporary memory and deleted when you close your web browser following use of our Sites or Services. We use these cookies to identify you during a single browsing session, such as when you visit our Site or log into our Services. A persistent cookie will remain on your device for a set period of time specified in the cookie. We use these cookies where we need to identify you over a longer period of time. For example, we would use a persistent cookie if you ask that we keep you signed into a particular Site or Service.
What cookies do we use and why?
We use the following types of cookies that we may use:
- Required cookies: These are cookies, also known as “essential” or “strictly necessary” cookies, that are required for technical reasons in order for the Sites and Services to operate. Without these cookies, the Sites and Services would not be able to function. We want you to understand these required cookies and why we use them, but we do not need to obtain your consent to use them on our Sites and Services, as we use these cookies only to provide you with services or information that you have requested.
- Functional cookies: These cookies may be used to enhance the performance and functionality of our Sites and Services; to manage your preferences; to analyze and personalize your use of, or to generally help us better understand how, our Sites, Services are being used. We use functional cookies to improve your experience when using the Sites and Services, but functional cookies are not required for you to use the Sites and Services. As such, you may disable these cookies as set forth below. However, without these cookies, certain functionality (like videos) may become unavailable.
- Analytical cookies: These cookies are used to understand how visitors interact with the website. These cookies help provide information on metrics such as the number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc. We use these cookies to understand traffic sources and optimize our marketing efforts. You may disable these cookies using our cookie consent tool. Disabling these cookies will not impact your ability to use our Sites or Services.
- Performance Cookies: These cookies analyze website speed, responsiveness, and stability to ensure a seamless user experience. These cookies are primarily used for improving technical performance rather than tracking visitor behavior. You may disable these cookies using our cookie consent tool. Disabling these cookies will not impact your ability to use our Sites or Services.
- Advertising/targeting cookies: These cookies are used to make advertising messages more relevant to you. They perform functions like preventing the same ad from continuously reappearing, ensuring that ads are properly displayed for advertisers, and in some cases selecting advertisements that are based on your interests. You may disable the use of these cookies as set forth below.
For more information regarding the specific cookies we use, please visit our cookie consent tool.
What similar technologies do we use?
Cookies are not the only way to recognize or track users of our Sites and Services. We may use other similar technologies from time to time, like web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”) to track users of our Sites and Services. These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognize when someone has interacted with our Sites and Services, such as opening an e-mail that we have sent them. The use of web beacons (or similar technologies) allow us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users within our Sites and Services, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our Sites from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve our Sites and Services, and to measure the success of e-mail marketing campaigns. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair their functioning.
How do we use targeted advertising?
OPSWAT tracks and analyses both individualized usage and volume statistical information related to your use of our online Properties and Services. We also partner with third parties (such as advertisers and ad networks) to display advertising on our Sites and/or to manage and serve advertising on other third party sites. These third parties use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags and similar data collection technologies to collect and use certain information about your online activities, either on our Sites, our Services, and/or other third party sites and services.
Our third party service providers may also use cookies or similar technologies to collect information about your visits to our Sites, the Services, and/or other third party sites to measure and track the effectiveness of advertisements and our online marketing activities (for example, by collecting data on how many times you click on one of our advertisements).
What are your options to control OPSWAT’s use of cookies and similar technologies?
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies (apart from those that are required or essential).
You can exercise your preferences in relation to cookies served on our Sites and Services by using our cookie consent tool or by setting or amending your browser controls as described below.
