MetaDefender™ Cloud Expands with a New Hosting Region in Israel

New in-country processing option supports data-residency and regulatory requirements

OPSWAT is expanding its cloud security footprint with the launch of a MetaDefender™ Cloud hosting region in Israel.

The deployment gives organizations in regulated and critical environments another option for processing files closer to their operations and aligning cloud use with in-country data-handling needs. It also advances OPSWAT’s mission to protect critical infrastructure through secure, privacy-focused file processing.

Israel’s cyber threat landscape remains highly active. According to the INCD (Israel National Cyber Directorate), more than 26,000 cyber incidents were reported in 2025, a 55% increase compared with 2024.

The directorate also reported 31,657 phishing attacks in 2025; seven times the previous year’s total.

For organizations that handle sensitive or regulated information, these trends raise the stakes for stopping malicious files before they reach trusted users, applications, and systems. They also make the location of data processing an important architectural and risk decision.

Israel's Privacy Protection Regulations (Transfer of Data to Databases Abroad) set conditions for transferring personal data from databases in Israel to other countries. A local hosting option gives organizations greater choice as they assess where files should be processed and how cloud services fit their legal, regulatory, and internal governance obligations.

Advanced File Security with Local Processing

MetaDefender™ Cloud brings multiple threat prevention and data protection technologies to cloud file workflows:

These layers include:

  • Metascan™ Multiscanning uses multiple anti-malware engines to improve detection rates.
  • Deep CDR™ Technology disarms potentially harmful content and rebuilds usable files.
  • Predictive Alin AI provides static, pre-execution zero-day detection.
  • MetaDefender Aether™ uses layered, emulation-based analysis to identify unknown and evasive malware.
  • Proactive DLP™ detects sensitive and regulated data and applies configurable policies.

Together, these technologies help organizations screen files for known and emerging threats, neutralize risky content, and reduce the exposure of sensitive information before content moves deeper into trusted workflows.

For Salesforce environments, MetaDefender for Salesforce brings these same layered security technologies into Salesforce workflows, with automated policy enforcement to detect and neutralize malware before files enter Salesforce records or workflows.

Extending OPSWAT’s Cloud Presence in Israel

The Israel deployment expands OPSWAT’s global hosting footprint and gives local organizations more flexibility in how they design cloud-based file workflows. Customers can pair layered threat prevention with an in-country processing option, subject to their service configuration and specific legal or regulatory requirements.

For security and compliance teams, the result is a more direct path to integrating advanced file inspection into applications and business processes while retaining greater control over processing location.
