Protecting the World’s Critical Infrastructure
OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage needed to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. Over the last 20 years our commitment to innovative technology has earned the trust of more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions globally, solidifying our role in protecting the world’s critical infrastructure and securing our way of life.
The Position
MetaDefender Drive’s technology is a fusion of a hardened USB platform, a customized secure Linux scanning environment, and multi-layer OPSWAT threat detection engines, allowing it to deeply inspect a system before it joins a network, with zero reliance on the system’s own OS.
At OPSWAT, building software is like solving puzzles: every line of code contributes to protecting the world's critical infrastructure. We engineer products where security, performance, and reliability are equally important, and every engineer plays a key role in delivering innovative cybersecurity solutions.
As AI transforms software engineering, OPSWAT is integrating AI across both our products and development workflows. We are looking for engineers who can effectively leverage AI to build secure, high-quality software while applying strong engineering judgment.
If you are a knowledgeable, creative, passionate individual who is interested in designing and building unique security software that no one else is building, then we want you!
What You Will be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain MetaDefender Drive using C++ on Linux.
- Build secure, high-performance software for endpoint and critical infrastructure protection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot new features.
- Research and prototype new technologies and proof-of-concepts.
- Perform code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to improve productivity while maintaining security and code quality.
- Build or integrate AI-powered tools and workflows that improve engineering efficiency.
What We Need from You
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional C++ software development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Linux development, including Shell scripting, kernel concepts, U-Boot, and Yocto.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, databases, and debugging.
- Experience with Windows and cross-platform development is a plus.
- Experience using AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
- Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) into products or internal tools.
- Experience building AI-powered automation or agents using MCP or similar frameworks is a plus.
