Senior Applied AI Engineer (Finance)

The Position

We're looking for builders. You'll use modern AI coding agents - paired with strong engineering mentorship - to design, build, and ship production-grade applications. Over your internship you'll deliver multiple apps, both internal tools used daily across OPSWAT and customer-facing features, with real users and real impact. You'll learn to wield AI agents as a force multiplier while developing the judgment to ship secure, reliable, well-architected software.
 

What you'll do

• Build and ship full-stack applications end-to-end, from spec to deployment, using AI coding agents under the guidance of senior engineers.

What we're looking for

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent demonstrable ability).
• Solid programming fundamentals: data structures, APIs, databases, version control (Git).
• Experience building something end-to-end and shipping it - a side project, hackathon app, open-source contribution, or course capstone that real people used.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) and genuine curiosity about agentic workflows.
• Strong written communication and the ability to work independently with guidance.
• Security-conscious mindset and care for quality.

The Position 

OPSWAT is building the internal AI & Data platform that will power every non-engineering function at the company — Finance, HR, Legal, Sales Ops, Marketing, CX, IT, Security, and Supply Chain. We are not buying our way out of this problem with off-the-shelf SaaS; we are building it ourselves, with AI-accelerated development, and we need a leader to own the foundation. 

As Director of AI Platform & Data, you will own the AI Platform pillar end-to-end and be accountable to executive leadership for its outcomes. You will run the connective tissue that makes company-wide AI enablement real: the MCP servers and gateway, the agent runtime and orchestration layer, the AI-native data platform that feeds them, the analytics layer that surfaces insight through conversation rather than dashboards, and the governance framework that keeps it all safe. You will lead a multi-team organization, make the platform decisions, set the technical and product direction, and represent this pillar to the CEO, COO, and senior leadership. This role is for someone who thinks like a founder, builds like an engineer, and leads like an operator — someone ready to run an org, not assist in running one. 

What You Will Be Doing 

• Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for the AI Platform & Data pillar end-to-end: MCP servers, agent runtime and orchestration framework, AI-native data platform, analytics products, and governance. 

• Scale and lead a multi-team organization spanning Orchestration, Data Engineering, Analytics, and Governance; recruit, mentor, and develop engineering managers and technical leads — and raise the bar on the leaders you inherit. 

• Build the AI-native data platform — a foundation with CDC pipelines, a semantic layer designed for LLM consumption, lineage, freshness SLAs, and a quality framework that makes agent outputs trustworthy by default. 

• Reinvent the analytics function. Move the company from static dashboards to agent-driven insights: natural-language analytics, autonomous deep-dives, anomaly detection, and proactive surfacing of business signals to the teams that need them. 

• Define and enforce the architectural patterns that let product teams across Finance, HR, Legal, CX, Supply Chain, and GTM Systems ship AI-powered internal workflows on the shared platform — without rebuilding plumbing every time. 

• Own OPSWAT’s private LLM strategy and operating model, including model selection, fine-tuning and post-training, secure deployment, inference infrastructure, evaluation, observability, and lifecycle management. Build private models that can power internal agents, AI-assisted SDLC, and sensitive-data workflows where public or externally hosted models are not appropriate. 

• Establish the architecture and decision framework for routing workloads between OPSWAT-hosted models and approved external foundation models based on data classification, security requirements, latency, quality, and cost. 

• Build and govern the training and evaluation data pipelines required to improve OPSWAT’s private models, including dataset curation, anonymization, access controls, versioning, benchmarking, red-team testing, and protection against data leakage. 

• Partner with Security, Engineering, Legal, and Product teams to define private-model use cases across secure coding, internal knowledge retrieval, cybersecurity analysis, operational agents, and regulated or customer-sensitive workflows. 

• Eliminate shadow IT by making the platform the obvious choice: design MCP servers, data connectors, and agent primitives that are faster, safer, and easier than DIY alternatives. 

• Establish the governance framework — model access, data classification, audit, evaluation, cost controls — that lets the company adopt AI broadly without compromising security or compliance. 

• Drive a development culture that runs ahead of the industry curve on agentic coding, AI-assisted SDLC, and internal tooling velocity — the platform team should be the most productive engineering team in the company. 

• Represent the pillar to executive leadership, business function heads, and external partners; own the narrative, the roadmap, and the results. 

What We Need From You 

• 10+ years in software, data, or platform engineering, with 6+ years leading engineering teams and at least 2 years managing managers. 

• Demonstrated track record building and shipping platform products at scale — internal developer platforms, AI/ML infrastructure, modern data platforms, or equivalent. 

• Deep hands-on fluency with the modern AI stack: LLMs, RAG, agent frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, or equivalent), MCP, prompt engineering, and evaluation/observability. 

• Hands-on understanding of private LLM deployment and optimization, including open-weight models, supervised fine-tuning, preference optimization, quantization, inference serving, GPU infrastructure, model evaluation, and secure model operations. 

• Experience designing hybrid AI architectures that intelligently route requests between private models and commercial foundation models while maintaining security, quality, latency, and cost controls. 

• Strong data engineering and analytics foundation: lakehouse architectures (Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake), CDC, streaming, dbt-style transformation, semantic layers, and analytics-grade data quality. You have built data platforms that serve both humans and machines. 

• Security and governance mindset — you have built systems that needed to pass audit, not just demos. 

• Proven ability to partner with non-technical business functions and translate ambiguous requirements into platform capabilities. 

• An innovator’s instinct paired with an operator’s discipline: you bring ideas to the table proactively, then ship them with rigor. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication; you can hold the room with the CEO and pair-program with an IC in the same week. 

It Would Be Nice If You Had 

• Background in cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, or another regulated industry. 

• Experience fine-tuning or post-training open-weight models for enterprise, cybersecurity, software engineering, or domain-specific use cases. 

• Familiarity with private inference platforms and tooling such as vLLM, SGLang, Hugging Face, NVIDIA NIM, Kubernetes-based GPU serving, or equivalent technologies. 

• Experience automating revenue operations, finance, HR, or legal workflows through AI. 

• Familiarity with SugarCRM, Salesforce, or comparable enterprise system metadata and integration patterns. 

• Experience standing up MCP servers, agent infrastructure, or AI gateways in production.

The Position

We are seeking a builder-operator hybrid—a Director of Supply Chain who can architect and scale a mature supply chain capability from the ground up, while remaining deeply involved in day-to-day operations. This role is hands-on and based in our Tampa warehouse, with a strong emphasis on build quality, QA/QC, and operational excellence.

You will be responsible for designing and executing a supply chain strategy that supports OPSWAT’s hardware growth, ensuring every unit shipped meets our standards for quality, branding, and customer experience.

The Position

We seek a dedicated and experienced Hardware Fulfillment Technician to oversee the imaging, testing, and shipment of OPSWAT hardware for customer orders worldwide.

The ideal candidate will be a general expert in “everything” hardware, from Servers and desktops to IoT hardware. You will understand how hardware integrates to make a system, including discovering bottlenecks and performance issues with recommendations to improve our processes.

You will be responsible for improving our imaging processes and fulfillment strategies.

This is an in-office position based in our Tampa office.

The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior GRC Analyst to join our dynamic cybersecurity team at OPSWAT. In this role, you will lead critical security and privacy compliance initiatives, ensuring that our organization adheres to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. You will be instrumental in shaping our governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) framework, focusing on protecting data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

As a senior member of the GRC team, you will collaborate across technical and non-technical teams, drive policy development, manage security investigations, and oversee audit activities. Your expertise will support OPSWAT’s mission to maintain robust security certifications, meet vendor onboarding requirements, and proactively respond to evolving cyber threats.

What You Will Be Doing 

• Lead the development, review, and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory mandates (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, DORA) and industry standards such as NIST CSF, CIS18, ISO 27001, ISO 42001 and SOC 2.  
• Oversee the implementation and administration of GRC tools and platforms, leveraging automation and AI capabilities to enhance compliance workflows and reporting. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align security and privacy policies with technology and business processes. 
• Lead internal audits related to security policies and regulatory standards, identifying risks and driving remediation efforts.  
• Coordinate responses to customer security questionnaires and vendor security risk assessments, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.  
• Manage and conduct complex security investigations, maintaining chain of custody and ensuring thorough documentation.  
• Develop and maintain data workflows, dashboards, and metrics to monitor Security GRC status and support decision-making.  
• Handle personal data requests and privacy compliance activities in accordance with GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations.  
• Manage security risk processes, including maintaining the risk register, driving risk assessments, treatment plans, and risk-based decision-making. 
• Support in reviewing security logs, alerts, and data to identify risks; contribute to incident investigations, and address compliance gaps. 
• Support implementation and oversight of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls across multiple channels. 
• Assess and manage risks related to AI/ML technologies and contribute to AI governance policies to ensure secure and responsible adoption. 

What We Need From You 

• Proven experience (3+ years) in governance, risk, and compliance within cybersecurity or information security environments.  
• Proficiency in English, with strong listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
• Deep understanding of security and regulatory frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, DORA, SOC 2, and CIS Controls (CIS18), as well as privacy regulations including GDPR and CCPA.  
• Technical understanding and background related to information systems, cybersecurity, cloud environments, network, and technology risks.  
• Skilled in policy writing, technology audits, security investigations, and data analysis. 
• Experience with risk management frameworks, risk register process, and risk treatment planning. 
• Hands-on experience with audit management, including internal audits and external certification support. 
• Experience in developing control self-assessment process and governance. 
• Understanding of data protection and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) concepts. 
• Basic understanding of AI/ML risks, including data leakage, prompt injection, and governance considerations (preferred).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contributor to the quality management system of the facility and the conformity of the product provided to customers.
• Track asset lifecycles from procurement to deployment, return, refurbishment, and decommissioning including cycle counts.
• Conduct routine inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.

• Manage relationships with logistics carriers and shipping vendors.

Conduct shipping and receiving duties including verification of bills of lading.

• Maintain documentation for asset tagging, device assignment, and chain‑of‑custody logs.

• Identify and implement improvements to streamline technology logistics workflows.
• Standardize packaging, tracking, and distribution procedures.

• Must be able to safely operate a forklift for moving, staging, and storing technology equipment and materials.

• Experience using inventory or asset tracking tools (e.g., Asset Panda, Snipe‑IT, Jira).
• Familiarity with standard IT hardware such as laptops, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals.

• Ability to lift and move equipment (typically 30–50 lbs).
