OPSWAT is excited to announce the release of MetaDefender Drive v4.3.8, featuring several enhancements to improve the accuracy, visibility, and scanning coverage. This release includes enhancements to the scan disk selection interface, expanded support for more file types with My OPSWAT™ Central Management integration, and support for partially encrypted BitLocker drives.

Partition and OS Details for Disk Selection

Since scanning large volumes of data is time-consuming, the capability to select specific partitions is critical, especially when multiple disks or partitions are present. Displaying generic labels like “Disk 1” or “Disk 2” presented a challenge in confidently determining which disk to scan.

In this release, MetaDefender Drive now displays partition names and operating system types during scan initiation. This enhances users’ visibility and enables them to quickly identify the correct disk, reducing the time spent reviewing disk structures and minimizing the margin of error while scanning complex systems.

PDF and Text Reports on My OPSWAT Central Management

Synced reports with My OPSWAT Central Management now include both PDF and text formats. This expanded file type support makes it easier to download, review, and share scan results, enhancing audit readiness, investigations, and information sharing across teams and sites.

Decrypting Partially Encrypted BitLocker Drives

Encrypted volumes pose a common challenge during scans, particularly when there is no mechanism to handle inconsistent encryption resulting from partial encryption.

To address this challenge, MetaDefender Drive has introduced the capability to unlock and scan partially encrypted BitLocker volumes, expanding coverage for wider real-world scenarios where encryption may not be fully applied. This enhancement helps security teams ensure comprehensive analysis and reduces blind spots caused by incomplete encryption states.
