Product Overview

OPSWAT MetaDefender Core protects your organization by preventing advanced cybersecurity threats on multiple data channels. MetaDefender Core leverages several proprietary technologies, including Deep Content Disarm and Reconstruction (Deep CDR™ Technology), Multiscanning, File-Based Vulnerability Assessment, Data Loss Prevention and Threat Intelligence to provide comprehensive protection for your networks and infrastructure against increasingly sophisticated malware.

Release Highlights

Enhance Proactive DLP processing flow for MS Office documents

This release onwards, MetaDefender Core will no longer send nested child files in MS Office files to Proactive DLP engine for separate processing. Instead, the whole document (parent file) is handled by the engine for sensitive data detection.

User's API key redeployment after deletion

In previous versions, an API key was valid for a fixed user only. For added convenience for our customers, MetaDefender Core now accepts the API key of an already-removed user to be assigned to another user. This change helps avoid interruptions or alterations during cross-system integration.

Support health check settings for export/import configurations

Administrators can now export or import Health Check API Configurations under the Settings > Export/Import page.

Single Sign-On (SSO) security assertion markup language (SAML) enrichments

The new release comes with additional supported SSO SAMLs including AES128-GCM and AES256-GCM encryption algorithms.

Auto upgrade when connecting to an older database version

Once MetaDefender Core v5.1.1 connects to an older-version database, it will automatically identify and upgrade the database to the latest version. This improvement facilitates the product upgrade process and precludes interruptions to maintain product operation.

Bundle PostgreSQL server upgrade

In this release, the PostgreSQL server bundled with MetaDefender Core installation was upgraded to version 12.10, which includes more advanced features and remediated certain vulnerabilities.

Other Enhancements

We’ve also continued to tweak performance and introduced a variety of improvements in product stability, product UX fixes and bugs fixes. Some issues fixed in this release include:

  • Engine manual upload issue
  • Mistaken callback messages sent to webhook server
  • Processing failure with the encrypted archive ALZ/EGG file
  • Disk space availability check omitted before processing file request
