MetaDefender™ Endpoint v7.6.2607 Release

With this release, administrators can configure Peripheral Media Protection to let users skip an individual file scan or bypass a device block when immediate access is required. Administrators can set when and how a bypass is available. This feature is available for both Windows and macOS devices.

For users, this means access to an urgent task or critical file is granted in moments. For administrators, the control remains firmly on their side. This means fewer disruptions to urgent tasks, fewer help desk escalations, and a security policy that flexes with real business needs instead of working against them.

Threat detection should never stop because a single scan server does. Peripheral Media Protection now automatically fails over to another available scan server if the primary one becomes unreachable.

For end users, this means removable media continues to be scanned without interruption, eliminating the need to submit support tickets or wait for IT to notice and intervene. For administrators, it removes a single point of failure from day-to-day operations, so scan server maintenance or an unexpected outage no longer translates into a coverage gap.

Knowing a device or file was blocked is one thing. Knowing what to do next shouldn't require a call to the help desk. This release adds a configuration option to automatically display the remediation page when action is needed.

Users are guided directly to the next steps the moment an issue is detected, avoiding unnecessary support requests. This enables administrators to have a consistent, predictable experience across their environment, configured once and applied automatically.

Keeping endpoints up to date with the right security updates is critical to minimize risk, but it is hard to act on what you cannot see. The management console now notifies administrators of any specific Knowledge Base that needs updating, along with how the number of days it has been overdue.

This turns patch management from a manual audit into an at-glance task. Administrators can immediately see which endpoints are exposed and how urgent the gap is, making it easier to prioritize remediation before an outdated KB becomes an incident.
