This MetaDefender Endpoint release includes features and enhancements across Windows (v7.6.2606), macOS (v10.4.2606), and Linux (v15.6.2606). The new additions provide deeper visibility, stronger control, enhanced cross-platform protection, and a more seamless experience when managing endpoints at scale.
What’s New in MetaDefender Endpoint
Peripheral Media Protection Feature for macOS
Removable media remains one of the most common attack vectors in critical infrastructure environments, and the threat doesn't stop at Windows. Peripheral Media Protection now extends to macOS, closing the cross-platform gap and bringing consistent protection against removable media to critical endpoints in your environment.
MetaDefender Endpoint administrators can now enforce the same removable media policies across Windows and macOS environments without managing separate configurations or siloed tools for each platform. This feature is powered by OPSWAT’s industry-leading technologies, including Metascan™ Multiscanning, Deep CDR™ Technology, Proactive DLP™, and Country of Origin technologies. The Metascan Multiscanning technology includes over 30 anti-malware engines, with OPSWAT Predictive Alin AI. This expansion delivers enhanced protection and simplifies compliance enforcement across device types.

Ring-Based Patch Deployments for Enhanced Flexibility
Deploying patches across hundreds or thousands of devices carries inherent risk if done all at once. A ring-based approach offers greater flexibility that enables organizations to validate patches on lower-risk devices first, monitor system health, and confirm stability before expanding to critical or production systems.
With this new release, MetaDefender Endpoint introduces ring-based patch deployment, enabling administrators to stage rollouts across device groups, locations, OS versions, and risk profiles. Through My OPSWAT™ Central Management, security teams can create deployment rings and define membership, deploy patches with configurable rules, and ring-level status monitoring.

Compliance-Ready Patch Reporting
Proving patch compliance should no longer take hours of manual data pulls. This release enables MetaDefender Endpoint admins to generate customizable patch management reports to meet compliance and operational needs. Through My OPSWAT Central Management, graphical reports can be filtered by severity level, endpoint group, or deployment name. They can also be exported in formats aligned with major compliance frameworks, including NERC CIP, NIS2, and NIST CSF, making reports ready for audits or communicating posture to leadership.

Simplified Navigation and Policy Management
Managing protection policies across Peripheral Media Protection and Advanced Endpoint Protection has been simplified with this new release. We have restructured the left navigation menu, relocating Removable Media Protection policy controls to the Peripheral Media Protection tab for easier policy management and a streamlined experience.
In addition, the Advanced Endpoint Protection policy layout has been redesigned to improve consistency across the management interface. This consistent approach means security teams working across different policy types now encounter a consistent organizational model and accelerated policy configuration.

MetaDefender Endpoint Validation is Now Available for Linux Devices
In addition, MetaDefender Endpoint Validation now supports Linux devices, enabling consistent peripheral media protection and policy enforcement across different platforms.
