This MetaDefender Endpoint release includes new features and enhancements across Windows (v7.6.2605), macOS (v10.4.2605), and Linux (v15.6.2605). The new additions are designed to provide deeper visibility, stronger control, and improved user experience when managing endpoints at scale, making it easier for MetaDefender Endpoint users to stay protected against threats.

What’s New in MetaDefender Endpoint

Certificate-Based File Verification for Enhanced Security

This release introduces certificate-based file verification before scanning across MetaDefender Endpoint key features, including Peripheral Media Protection, Peripheral Device Control, Malware Scan, and Download Protection. This enhancement enables administrators to allow or block vendor files based on certificates confidently. This feature strengthens organizations’ overall security posture and significantly reduces false positives.

User Notification for Unauthorized Application Disabling

To keep users informed while maintaining a secure environment, a new real-time pop-up now alerts users whenever unauthorized applications are disabled. This feature gives MetaDefender Endpoint users immediate visibility into security actions and reinforces awareness without adding friction.

Advanced Malware Protection for macOS

Security for macOS endpoints takes a major leap forward with the introduction of the Malware Scan feature. This feature is powered by OPSWAT’s industry-leading technologies, including Metascan Multiscanning™ with over 30 anti-malware engines, including OPSWAT Predictive Alin AI, the Deep CDR™ Technology technologies, and Proactive DLP™, and Country of Origin detection. This feature delivers comprehensive, multi-layered protection for critical endpoints.

Simplified Support with Uninstall & Patching Requests

Managing unsupported applications just got easier with this new release. Users can now submit uninstall or patching requests for unsupported apps directly through a new built-in form within the Application Remover and Application Patches features. This streamlines communication between users and IT teams, reducing manual effort and speeding up resolution times.

Broader Coverage with Expanded Application Support

The Application Patches feature has been expanded to support eight additional applications, including xesWord, VMware Remote Console, FabaSoft Folio Client, Ivanti Application Control, Ivanti Environment Manager, Kofax PDF/Tungsten, NVDA, and Yubico Authenticator. This broader coverage across your software ecosystem helps minimize gaps in your patching strategy.

Smarter Device Management with Multi-Domain Auto-Assignment

MetaDefender Endpoint administrators can now configure multiple domains to assign devices to specific groups automatically. This specifically helps manage complex environments by reducing the need to create multiple device groups per domain for auto-assignment or to manually move devices from different domains into a single device group. The enhancement enables more efficient onboarding, streamlines policy enforcement, and reduces manual configuration.
