OPSWAT is excited to announce the release of MetaDefender Drive v4.3.4 and MetaDefender Drive Toolkit v3.7.4. This release delivers significant enhancements, including expanded scan configuration, improved engine update status visibility, and easier navigation.

Key Updates in MetaDefender Drive v4.3.4

More Configurations for Lite Mode

Lite Mode, specifically designed for MetaDefender Drive to perform scans on low-spec devices, now enables users to adjust scan settings. This expansion offers a similar experience to the default mode, while keeping the access policy enforcement available via the Centralized Scanning Profiles feature.

One of the major enabled settings in this version is the maximum file size, which was previously set to not exceed 200 megabytes per file in Lite Mode. With this new release, users can now adjust:

  • Maximum file size
  • Scan timeouts
  • Archive file handling methods

The settings available to adjust on Lite Mode are accessible on the Scan Settings and Archive Handling pages, which are located on the Preferences menu, under the Settings tab.

The engine update interface has been improved with more, clearer engine status details, including:

  • Engines are displayed in alphabetical order for quicker access
  • A new status, Prepared, has been added to indicate when an engine package is lined up for initial processing and awaiting staging for automatic upgrade
  • The latest update date for engine definitions is displayed instead of the number of days passed since the last update
  • International date and time format is now used for better global accessibility

Always-On Left Navigation Bar

The sidebar of the MetaDefender Drive Toolkit is now always displayed for easier navigation between tabs and faster access to key features.

Improved Package Download Reliability

The software upgrade process has been improved to reduce the possibility of MetaDefender Drive Toolkit failing, in specific cases, due to CDN (Content Delivery Network) caching.
