OPSWAT today announced a significant milestone for OESIS Framework technology. OESIS, the industry standard for detecting and managing endpoint software applications, now supports more than 2000 individual security applications, including new applications compatible with Mac OS X Mountain Lion and Windows 8.

OPSWAT, the industry leader in software management SDKs, multiple engine malware scanning solutions and interoperability certification, supports security applications in order to enable their customers to detect, assess and remediate those applications on endpoint computers. OESIS Framework is currently integrated into solutions from Cisco, Juniper, Citrix, F5 and many others, to power endpoint health assessments and compliance. The applications supported by OESIS include antivirus, firewall, antiphishing, patch management, VPN clients, backup clients and many others.

OESIS includes management capabilities for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android applications, and fully supported detection of built-in security applications in Mac OS X Mountain Lion immediately upon release of the new operating system late last month. OPSWAT also already supports many security applications compatible with Windows 8, scheduled for release in October. By adding support for these new applications, OPSWAT will enable compliance checking capabilities for the users and companies who adopt the Mac OS X Mountain Lion and Windows 8 operating systems.

“It is important for our customers’ products to detect a wide range of applications and to detect them as soon as users upgrade to the latest version,” said Amir Harush, Director of Engineering at OPSWAT. “Achieving the milestone of 2000 supported applications is a great accomplishment, and our immediate core support for Mac OS X Mountain Lion further demonstrates our commitment to strong application support.“

OPSWAT partners with software application vendors through the OPSWAT Certification Program, to make sure that vendors’ applications are compatible with the leading SSL VPN and NAC solutions that utilize OPSWAT’s OESIS Framework. Applications with this industry-wide compatibility have significantly reduced compatibility issues for end users and reduced support tickets for application vendors. In the past year, OPSWAT has also released support for numerous applications on new operating systems Mac OS X Lion and Android by partnering with vendors through OPSWAT Certification.

Software vendors with new applications, especially those for Mac OS X Mountain Lion, Windows 8, and Android, are encouraged to submit these products for OPSWAT Certification. More information, including videos explaining the benefits of the program, is available on OPSWAT’s website at www.opswat.com/certified.
