Edvation is an e-learning company that focuses on improving ways students learn. They provide a virtual classroom setting so that teachers and students have the ability to communicate easily, while sharing projects, educational documents and course-related articles. With files constantly being uploaded and downloaded by students and teachers, Edvation became concerned that there was a chance of a malicious file being uploaded to their system. The goal was to find a cost-effective solution that could help them maintain a secure platform for all users.

Edvation decided to choose Metascan® (now MetaDefender Core) to provide them with advanced threat detection and prevention capabilities for their virtual classroom environment. Now by using the Metascan 4 package, all files that are uploaded and downloaded by users are scanned with four anti-malware engines simultaneously.

Metascan increases the assurance that malicious files are identified and blocked quickly before they are even uploaded. Edvation believes that Metascan has helped them to hold on to their reputation as a secure platform for learning and development as well as keeping their virtual classroom setting secure from malicious files.
