TACHYON, the new name for nProtect

One of the anti-malware engines that OPSWAT provides you with as part of our multi-scanning capability is from INCA Internet, and the company has renamed their engine to TACHYON. OPSWAT customers relying on MetaDefender Core will notice this name change on the administrator management console pages.

OPSWAT customers know that one of the benefits of using our MetaDefender Advanced Threat Prevention platform is that it performs multi-scanning to stop both known and unknown threats. To do this, MetaDefender uses multiple anti-malware engines; in fact, we leverage the combined threat prevention capabilities of more than 30 anti-malware engines using either signature heuristic scanning and machine learning.
