It’s been a great past month here at OPSWAT with two exciting Gears updates and the San Francisco Giants winning the 2014 World Series! The latest Gears release includes new event log sections, a revamped remediation page and enhancements to our developer portal.
Event Logs
Our event log feature has received a significant upgrade. We’ve separated our event logs into three sections: Administrator Events, Device Events, and Device Activities.
The Administrator Events log will capture activities such as administrators logging on, and making configuration changes. The Device Events log records all devices added to and removed from your Gears account. The Device Activities log provides detailed information about device status and changes on individual endpoints.
Since the quantity of log information has increased, we have also added event log filters, timescale selection, and an export to CSV function.
Redesigned Remediation Page
A few months back we released the device remediation page, designed to give end users simple and clear information about the state of their device. The new look provides users a cleaner and easier way to read and remediate device issues. In the coming weeks we will be making incremental improvements to the design and next month we’ll be adding the ability to rebrand, customize and localize the page.
OAuth Authentication Sample Page
The Gears Cloud APIs are secured with OAuth 2.0, and while this protocol is easy to use, implementations can vary slightly. To assist developers’ integrations with our APIs, we’ve created a new sample page in our Developer Portal. This new page, in addition to our sample applications page, will cover most integration use-cases.
