Presentation: Network Security for Employees

As National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) draws to a close, OPSWAT wanted to take this opportunity to provide a tool for businesses to use in educating their employees about network security. Employee education is a crucial component of any network security platform. Since many threats take advantage of user behavior to gain entry into networks, something as simple as failing to update software in a timely fashion can lead to a major breach. Another risky behavior was recently identified in a BYOD survey from ZixCorp; employee hesitance to report lost or stolen devices to their employers presents a major risk for data security—a risk that can be mitigated by educating users on the importance of immediately reporting missing devices.

Josh Dean, OPSWAT's Director of IT, recently created a slide deck providing users a brief overview of network security then and now, along with simple steps they can take to protect essential data and maintain the security their network. Feel free to share the slide deck within your organization, and contact us if you have any questions!
