At OPSWAT, we are continually working to improve our products to help companies enhance their security while completing daily tasks more efficiently. We are happy to announce the latest release of our product, Policy Patrol Secure File Transfer, a solution that allows users to send and receive files instantly and securely while providing companies with central oversight into corporate transfers. The latest release, version 2.1, includes three major improvements:

  • Amazon S3 Integration
  • Audit trail
  • REST API

Amazon S3 Integration

The Amazon S3 integration now allows you to save all transferred files in the cloud on Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3). Amazon S3 is a cost effective storage solution, and is designed to provide over 99.9% durability and availability. Amazon storage provides a high level of protection against hardware failure, network issues, incidents and more. To use Amazon S3 storage, you need to select the option to save your files on 'Cloud Storage' during the Policy Patrol Secure File Transfer installation. You will be asked to input your Amazon account details.

Audit log

To ensure data security, it is very important for companies to have full insight into the actions performed on the file transfer system, such as who sent which files to whom and who accessed the files from where. This is why we added an audit log so that administrators can review all activity on the system, including file tracking information as well as user activity. By providing a comprehensive audit log, the new release helps companies meet data security requirements, as well as compliance with industry regulations such as HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI, and SEC. With the audit log, it is also a lot easier to track expired files and licenses. To access the audit log, select 'Audit' from the left menu. All events will be displayed. Events can be filtered and exported to .csv format.

REST API

For this release, we added REST calls for uploading and downloading files, enabling any application that requires you to send or retrieve files to integrate directly with Policy Patrol Secure File Transfer using the REST API. Giving applications the ability to communicate with each other allows for enhanced automation of processes while also reducing the frequency of human error. For more information on how to integrate your application with the Policy Patrol Secure File Transfer REST API, consult the product manual in the OPSWAT Portal.
