OPSWAT Survey Finds Poor Adoption of Security Best Practices for Web Application Security, Leaving Critical Infrastructure Industries Vulnerable to Increased Cyber Threats
Today, OPSWAT published its Web Application Security Report 2021, covering statistics, trends, and best practices to secure critical infrastructure from security breaches and compliance violations. Key findings reveal that, despite a marked increase in concerns around malware attacks and third-party risk, only 8% of organizations with web applications for file uploads have fully implemented the recommended best practices for file upload security. Additionally, one-third of organizations with a web application for file uploads do not scan all file uploads to detect known malware and a majority do not sanitize file uploads with CDR to prevent unknown threats and zero-day attacks.
