In this OPSWAT Employee Spotlight, get to know Laura Ellis, our VP of Products, Secure Access, located in Tampa, Florida!
How did you begin your career in the cybersecurity industry?
I began my career in the cybersecurity industry at IBM when I took a role as a Cloud Business Development Exec at the beginning of the Cloud phenomenon with cybersecurity as one of the biggest issues.
How long have you been with OPSWAT, and what is your role?
I’ve worked at Impulse for four years until it was acquired by OPSWAT two years ago. As the VP of Products, Secure Access, I lead the business side of the Secure Access Solutions including MetaDefender Access Cloud, SDP and NAC. I work closely with R&D, Marketing, Sales and others to ensure we have the best strategy and growth for these solutions.
What do you like the most about working at OPSWAT?
The high quality of people on the team and the excitement for our continued growth.
How has the company changed since you first started?
The biggest change is our accelerated growth. Our Tampa office has tripled in size!
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned at OPSWAT?
The best career lesson I’ve learned is the importance of active communication across departments and to act with urgency and quality in every aspect of the job.
What has been your favorite project to work on at OPSWAT?
My favorite project has been launching a new product when we merged SDP with MetaDefender Access. I also love the speed with which we embrace new projects.
If you could describe OPSWAT in one word, what would it be?
