The latest Gears release includes all-new configuration guides for two industry leading secure access solutions, several updates to our product software support, and minor bug fixes.
We have recently added two new configuration guides for the integration of Gears into secure access solutions (e.g. SSL VPN, NAC). These new guides include the F5® BIG-IP® Access Policy Manager® (APM®) and the Dell SonicWALL Aventail SRA appliance. Each of these guides will walk you through how to effortlessly and seamlessly add the security and compliance checks available through Gears to an SSL VPN or NAC posture check workflow.
Gears continues to incorporate support for new product releases from our partner products (powered by OESIS). These updates expand our support capabilities for security applications, including anti-malware, firewall, antiphising, hard disk encryption, and backup software products.
For anti-malware applications we now support new products from Malwarebytes, Check Point, Lavasoft, Quick Guard, Microsoft, and Symantec. Our firewall, hard disk encryption, and backup support have updates from Check Point, Lavasoft, Quick Guard, and Microsoft. As for our browser and antiphising support we now include Google Chrome 35.x, Mozilla Firefox 29.x, and Opera 20.x. Finally, we have expanded our application removal capabilities to include updates from Malwarebytes, Bitdefender, BitTorrent, and avast!. Finally, we cleaned up a few items on the Gears platform. Our fixes include an improved timestamp sort in the Event Log, enhanced log cleanup, as well as some improvements to the newly launched security feature Session Shield.
