RocketCyber has announced the End-of-Life (EOL) of the anti-malware engine currently integrated within the MetaDefender Core™ and MetaDefender Cloud™ platforms. As a result, OPSWAT will remove the RocketCyber engine from all applicable packages effective August 1, 2026, and replace or adjust coverage of our Metascan™ Multiscanning portfolio.
Impact on Customers Using Metascan™ Multiscanning Packages
- For Windows (Max Engines, 20 Engines, 16 Engines, 12 Engines, 8 Engines): no action is needed as the engine will be removed automatically on August 1, 2026.
- For Linux (Max Engines, 10 Engines, 5 Engines): no action is needed as the engine will be removed automatically on August 1, 2026.
- For Custom Engines: If RocketCyber is configured as a custom engine, please contact OPSWAT to select a replacement from the available custom engine list before the deadline.
Next Steps for Our Users: License Reactivation
- MetaDefender Cloud: Navigate to Settings > License, select Deactivate, then Activate to apply the updated license.
- MetaDefender Core: Contact your OPSWAT sales representative or the Support Team to obtain and activate a new license key.
