Customize your security policies with ease. The latest release supports post-action scripts, allowing users to overwrite final verdicts based on predefined security policies. Customers can configure post-action scripts, such as antivirus engine weighing score or password setup failed, to overwrite the final verdict from 'allowed' to 'blocked’.
The MetaDefender Core v5.8.0 release incorporates several new features and enhancements to help improve efficiency and optimize resources for security operations. Here are some highlights:
- Utilize identical hashes to save effort and resources when rescanning the same set of files.
- Support post-action scripts to overwrite final verdicts based on predefined security policies.
- Finally, we are excited to announce the availability of Red Hat Enterprise OS version 9 for MetaDefender Platform.
1. Reuse scan results
For various shared libraries requiring repeated file scans, MetaDefender Core now offers the reuse of file scan results for the following use cases:
- Same files: MetaDefender Core will reuse files that have been scanned, processing only those that haven’t.

- Interrupted files: During a timeout session, failure, or cancellation; MetaDefender Core will identify identical hashes and reuse them upon the new scan.
- Concurrent files: Instead of scanning all uploaded files concurrently, MetaDefender Core will scan one by one and simultaneously check to skip files or hashes that have been processed.

Additionally, MetaDefender Core will also reuse files uploaded by anonymous users.
2. Allow post action to block a processing file
