Last week, a major security vulnerability affecting a popular encryption standard (SSL) was disclosed to the public. This vulnerability, nicknamed “Heartbleed,” put personal data at risk. Read more about the vulnerability and its implications here.
OPSWAT takes the security of our customers and their data seriously. We were notified of the exposure to our Elastic Load Balancing at AWS. Once AWS completed their patch, we immediately rotated our SSL certificates to remove the vulnerability from the OPSWAT Portal, Gears and the new OPSWAT Certification Portal.
While we do not believe any OPSWAT customer data has been exposed, as a best practice we recommend that you update your password to your OPSWAT account.
Given the global scope of the Heartbleed vulnerability and our commitment to security, we wanted to ensure we effectively communicated the issue as well as our subsequent actions.
