Gartner released the new Magic Quadrants for SSL VPNs in December, ranking vendors based on their performance in 2009 and 2010. Gartner focuses on influential and highly visible remote access vendors, and identifies strengths and cautions for each vendor in the full report.
Of the 13 vendors researched by Gartner, eight are technology partners with OPSWAT who license the OESIS Framework to power their management consoles and compliance checks (marked by blue in the Magic Quadrant displayed below). Gartner commends the recent partnership between OPSWAT and Citrix Systems, citing OPSWAT’s technology as one of Citrix’s strengths, and forecasting a higher 2011 rating due to this addition.
Juniper Networks is another example of a vendor using OPSWAT’s OESIS Framework to boost remote access security. Their use case describes the difficulties of securing networks against threats related to remote access and identifies Juniper’s solution through the integration of OPSWAT’s OESIS Framework. The integration provides customers the ability to detect, classify, and manage security applications on endpoints and to ensure that endpoints are using current virus definitions.
