The latest Metascan Online release includes several exciting improvements to make it quicker and easier for Metascan Online users to access detailed file scan results from multiple anti-malware engines.
Enhanced Archived Scan Results
In addition to providing a result for the archive as a whole, the fastest cloud-based multi-scanning solution also reports the individual scan results for each file within an archive. This allows you to see which file or files inside an archive have been identified as a threat and get detailed scan results for each file. The additional results are also available through the Metascan Online API. Within the results that are returned for an archive, each individual file, along with its basic scan results, is listed so that detailed scan results can be separately retrieved for each file.

Multiple Hash Lookup API
Another enhancement that we have added recently is the addition of an API method to retrieve multiple hash results in a single API call. With this API, users can look up several hash results at the same time, and then only retrieve the full detailed results for the specific hashes they find interesting. This usage allows Metascan Online API users to make their use of the Metascan Online API much more efficient.

Note: When the multiple hash lookup API is used, all of the hashed results that are retrieved count against the limit for that API key.
