We're excited to announce significant updates in MetaDefender Endpoint v7.6.2501 to start off 2025: a new UI for the Peripheral Media Protection feature paired with enhanced security capabilities in Download Protection. These improvements are designed not only to streamline workflows but also to provide better, more efficient protection against potential threats.

Enhancements to the User Interface

The new UI (user interface) for Peripheral Media Protection in MetaDefender Endpoint is designed to enhance usability and improve the user experience. This update includes peripheral device inventory and intuitive new images and icons representing various removable media devices, making it easier for users to identify and manage their connected media. Additionally, we streamlined and reorganized the navigation panel, dividing features into specific sections, allowing the users to navigate and access features in a more efficient way. With this new UI update, MetaDefender Endpoint makes it easier than ever to manage the peripherals connected to critical endpoints.

Download Files Securely with Download Protection

In addition to drag-and-drop protection, users can now benefit from a smoother workflow when downloading files securely from the web with our new Download Protection feature enhancement. Specifically, Download Protection adds a critical layer of security by blocking files copied and pasted from browsers into third-party applications, an often-overlooked attack vector that can compromise an endpoint. This added layer of protection ensures that users are safeguarded from malicious content and improves critical endpoint protection by preventing bypassing scans during the download process.
