We're thrilled to introduce MetaDefender Storage Security v3.6.0—designed to transform how you secure your valuable data assets while making your daily operations more productive and effective.

This release represents our commitment to making security not just stronger, but also more intuitive and efficient for your organization. With an updated UI, enhanced security intelligence, smarter resource management, and expanded controls, MetaDefender Storage Security v3.6.0 delivers real operational value while further strengthening your security posture against evolving threats.

A Fresh User Experience

In this release, we unveil a fresh, modern interface with simplified configurations and an intuitive remediation dashboard. This thoughtfully designed experience reduces visual complexity while providing immediate access to the features you rely on most, allowing your team to work more efficiently and effectively in securing your valuable data assets.

Smarter Resource Management

Our new configurable scan priority feature empowers you to align security operations with business priorities by ensuring critical scans receive immediate attention.

Users can now prioritize scan types by configuring priority queues, ensuring that critical scans are processed ahead of others. This enhancement allows organizations to optimize resource allocation, reduce latency for high-priority tasks, and improve overall efficiency in threat detection and remediation.

The new cancel file feature prevents wasted processing power. This is beneficial for efficient resource management and prevents unnecessary processing when priorities change, or mistakes are made.

Enhanced Security Intelligence

Security teams need comprehensive visibility to make informed decisions. Enhanced syslog messaging now provides more detailed information, including Data ID, threat details, and comprehensive scan results. This enables better integration with SIEM solutions (Splunk) for intensive security monitoring, threat tracking, and analysis.

Improved Storage Security Governance and Control

Secure Delegation of Authority

For organizations requiring delegated administration, our new Tenant Admin Permissions allow secure delegation of responsibilities without granting excessive access. This implementation offers granular control over tenant management without granting excessive access, improving compliance with regulatory requirements.

Flexible Remediation Management

The new destination storage for remediation actions allows you to view and manage destination storage for remediation actions directly from the dashboard. This feature provides greater visibility and control over where files are moved during remediation. With this enhancement, users can ensure that remediation actions align with their storage policies and security requirements.

Streamlined Operations Across Your Environment

Expanded API Capabilities

We included remediation data to scan details, providing a comprehensive view of actions taken on files. Additionally, the /file API endpoint has been updated with improved filtering options, enabling more efficient file querying and analysis.

Moreover, we improved file remediation history by including remediation information in API responses, enhancing reporting accuracy and completeness.

Simplified Storage Management in My OPSWAT Central Management

Users can now edit Storage Units directly in My OPSWAT Central Management, offering greater flexibility for managing storage configurations. Additionally, we simplified My OPSWAT Central Management configuration within MetaDefender Storage Security with a dedicated modal featuring active, inactive, and loading states.

Post-Remediation Empty Folder Management

Users can now delete empty folders after remediation. This feature supports keeping track of empty folders and depth for SMB shares, enabling better control over empty folder deletion after remediation actions.
