OPSWAT employees around the globe recognized International Volunteer Day on December 5. This year’s theme was “solidarity through volunteering,” and our team stayed true to our core value of being stronger together by driving positive change and donating their time and skills through various community activities.

Feeding Tampa Bay
Many team members volunteered for Feeding Tampa Bay, a leading movement to end hunger and rally the community together to create a healthier, more capable Tampa Bay and beyond. OPSWAT Tampa helped sort and organize food donations to support those affected by Hurricane Ian.

OnBikes
OPSWAT Tampa also sponsored OnBikes this year, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing bicycles to underprivileged children in our community. Our team helped build dozens of bikes, which were then shipped out and donated to kids in need who may never receive a bike.

Leket Israel
Leket Israel is the leading food rescue organization in Israel. Unique among all other organizations that serve the poor in Israel and food banks worldwide, Leket Israel’s sole focus is rescuing healthy, surplus food and delivering it to those in need through partner nonprofit organizations. The OPSWAT Israel team volunteered, packing beets and Chinese cabbage.

Lam Quang Pagoda (District 8)
Lam Quang Pagoda (District 8) is a simple riverside temple and refuge for the elderly, administered by Buddhist nuns & volunteers. Team members from the OPSWAT Vietnam office donated gifts, money and their time to the elderly.

Veszprém Integrated Family Support and Child Welfare Institution
The Veszprém Integrated Family Support and Child Welfare Institution helps to provide financial support to those in need by assisting with government financial aid claims, facilitating valuable donations, and providing housing to families in need. The OPSWAT Hungary team hosted a donation drive for food, toiletries and school supplies for families in need.

Vodafone Foundation and Librarul cu Papion
In Partnership with Librarul cu Papion and the Vodafone Foundation, the OPSWAT Romania team answered letters to Santa written by disadvantaged children by providing 35 gifts consisting of toys, clothes, sweets, and necessities that the children asked for in their letters.

The OPSWAT Romania office made a donation to Copii si Zan, an organization dedicated to supporting children with developmental delays.

Coder DOJO
Coder DOJO is the first Timisoara implementation of the Irish-led global movement of coding clubs for kids. The Romania team hosted a camp to teach children how to code.
The OPSWAT Romania office also hosted an open house where engineers provided training for freshman students at their local University.

San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program
The San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program believes that no child should be without a toy during the holiday season. The OPSWAT San Francisco team collected toys to donate to children and families who experienced devastation and loss due to a fire.
