We're excited to announce the beta release for the addition of AppRemover to our Gears application for Windows, and we can't wait to introduce our AppRemover users to the added tools the Gears application provides! In addition to the application removal feature that made AppRemover so popular, Gears allows Windows users to monitor their installed security applications, detect infections that may be missed by their installed antivirus by scanning with 40+ anti-malware engines, and securely and privately access data using Session Shield.

Gears Application
Through Security Score, the Gears application provides the ability to measure the security state of your device with a numeric value intended to provide a quantifiable measure of device risk. This gives you visibility to the status of your installed security applications, including antivirus, antiphishing, firewall, patch management and more, making it easy to ensure all of your security tools are active and configured correctly.
The Infected Files section of the Gears application combines two forms of malware detection to provide a unique assessment of whether your device is compromised. By looking both at the threats detected by your installed antivirus (to see if any aren't being properly remediated) as well as at daily malware scans using dozens of anti-malware engines (finding threats that might not have been detected by your installed antivirus), Gears provides a valuable supplement to your existing anti-malware solutions.
Session Shield is the Gears secure desktop solution, designed to provide private browsing and prevent data leaks. When you want to remain anonymous, or when accessing PII, use Session Shield to ensure that these records of your browsing activities aren't stored on your computer. It also provides you with a safe environment for accessing sensitive or confidential data. You are able to download and edit files, or create new files, and all documents will be erased when you exit the secure session.
Adding AppRemover to Gears for Mac is planned for mid-2015. In the interim, Mac users can still take advantage of the device security and anti-malware scanning features of Gears.

Please let us know what you think of these features and tweet us @OPSWAT with any questions!
