Nghia Tran, one of OPSWAT’s Security Analysts and Technicians located in Ho Chi Minh, is highlighted in our next OPSWAT Employee Spotlight Blog. Learn how he entered the cybersecurity industry and how OPSWAT has already made an impact on his career.

How did you begin your career in the cybersecurity industry?
It all started with my university project, which was about how firewalls work. After that, I worked in a System Integration company as a Network and Security consultant/implementer, then moved on to become a Security Consultant at a global audit and consulting firm. Before, I had thought that security is only for people who are fluent in coding and web development, but I have now realized that there is much more to it when working in Information Security.
What is your role at OPSWAT?
My daily duties span from monitoring malicious events affecting our infrastructure and people, to collecting vulnerability reports and connecting with personnel in charge to remediate them, to managing our security reputation score, to GDPR data requests and audit support.
What do you like the most about working at OPSWAT?
As a growing company, OPSWAT can give me experiences that I was lacking from my consulting time and give me the opportunity to contribute to many things. Also, OPSWAT values my opinions and is really open for improvement, which sets it apart from companies that I had worked with.
How has the company changed since you first started?
Even after only working here for about a month, after attending our latest company meeting, I understand that we are rapidly growing. Many opportunities will come from our rapid growth.
What has been your favorite project to work on at OPSWAT?
My favorite part is generally about improving our security and compliance posture.
If you could describe OPSWAT in one word, what would it be?
Rapid.
We are rapidly growing with recent M&A initiatives and broadening our portfolio and headcounts.
