- What do you do at OPSWAT? I’m a proud Technical Product Manager for MetaDefender Cloud.
- When did you join OPSWAT? May 2022
- If you could describe OPSWAT in one word, what would it be and why? Inspiration. I would describe OPSWAT as a place where all of us can be inspired, and we, through our work, can leave a significant print on the world so that we can inspire others as well. :)
Your time at OPSWAT
- What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
The best career lesson I’ve learned so far is that the sky is the limit. No dream is too big to be achieved, if it is accompanied by a good plan, and you have the courage not to give up. To reach the top, the road can often be difficult, and you have to be prepared to start all over again. Curiosity and self-confidence, tolerance and thinking outside the box will always be allies to reach the top.
- What do you like the most about OPSWAT?
The people, for sure, and our culture. 😊 I can confirm that each time, before arriving at the office, I feel grateful for the environment in which I work, and the people who make the office our second home, bearing in mind that we spend many hours a day together here. Together we successfully face challenges and discover solutions to provide quality products and protect the world’s critical infrastructure. It’s important to me to mention that here, in OPSWAT, I discovered real mentors, experts in cybersecurity, and every discussion with them is a plus in terms of my development as an expert in this domain and as a person. I am proud to be part of OPSWAT, and to have the amazing opportunity to be surrounded by our amazing community. #StrongerTogether
- What do you do to protect critical infrastructure? I am a strong advocate of what education means. I believe it is the most powerful catalyst for development, serving as a bridge from the threats and lack of security in the technological environment to the safe world. Last year and now I have the pleasure of participating with OPSWAT in teaching cybersecurity courses as a Teaching Assistant in the Cloud and IoT area for master's students from the Polytechnic University of Timisoara. I believe that education is the most important weapon in development and a step in a safer world not only for us, but also for the following generations.
- What do you like most about your direct team? From the first moment I interacted with OPSWAT, I had the pleasure of meeting confident, passionate and welcoming people. I was inspired by every team I worked with. We are in the true sense of the word a team: we motivate each other and work together to achieve OPSWAT’s vision. It’s more than a task closed—it’s about continuous development, support and trust.
The you outside of work
- What word would you choose to describe yourself? I am a self-motivated person, ambitious, curious about technology and someone who loves what is beautiful in life. I am not afraid of looking for new solutions and thinking outside the box. I learned that in every situation, even if it’s a personal or professional experience, an overall approach together with creativity can bring a result suitable for any situation.
- What are some of your favorite travel/vacation memories? I love traveling and I promised to myself that I would do this as often as I can. Each destination has its own story, from the excitement of the Moroccans to the calm inspired by the Norwegians, from the hospitality of my compatriots to the spirit of the British people. For me, it is the perfect opportunity to relax and to gain new knowledge about the cultures of the world from the life experiences of the locals. I will never forget the moment I saw the Aurora Borealis in Tromso, Norway—I was shaking, literally—and of course my mother’s smile each time I visit her in London; I’ve visited London more than 15 times and I still have incredible things to discover. 😊
- What keeps you motivated and focused? I regularly check my goals and the progress I have to achieve them. It is not easy at all many times, but I remember why I started. I am grateful for the present moment, for what surrounds me, and I find joy in every little thing, whether it is the morning coffee, the beautiful view I have from our office, or the success I had with a presentation. Helping others and knowing that I can make a difference in the environment in which I find myself, facing important tasks with a sense of purpose, are other aspects that make me continue and never give up.
