Metascan™ Multiscanning Technology Update: BKAV Pro Integration to Linux

OPSWAT is pleased to announce the addition of BKAV Pro as a custom engine within the Metascan™ Multiscanning Linux packages. Beginning August 3, 2026, BKAV Pro will be available as a custom engine option in both the 10-engine and 5-engine Linux packages, accessible through MetaDefender Core™.

BKAV Pro, an antivirus engine developed by BKAV Corporation, joined the Metascan™ Multiscanning portfolio in 2024, initially available across all Windows packages. Trusted by over 20 million global users, BKAV Pro applies AI-driven heuristics to identify sophisticated malware that traditional signature-based detection can miss.

In this new release, BKAV Pro is now available as a custom engine in the Metascan™ Linux packages, completing its presence across both major operating systems. For organizations running mixed OS infrastructure, this means the same AI-driven detection layer that strengthens their Windows scanning workflows can now be extended to their Linux deployments without introducing a separate toolchain or workflow.

Organizations already running OPSWAT's Linux-based Multiscanning packages can contact the OPSWAT team to add BKAV Pro as their custom engine. New customers can include it as part of their initial deployment.
