OPSWAT MetaDefender Kiosk was named “Best Security Product of the Year” by Cyber Security Awards, an awards program in the UK founded in 2014 to reward the best individuals, teams, and companies within the cybersecurity industry.

The Cyber Security Awards ceremony took place on November 29 at One Moorgate Place in Central London. Over 300 honorees and winners gathered to celebrate the occasion, enjoying an evening hosted by Joe Tidy, BBC News Reporter and Cyber Correspondent.

The Best Security Product of the Year award category aimed to recognize a company that developed an outstanding security product that has made a significant impact on the market, and demonstrates exceptional innovation, effectiveness, and reliability.

Operational technology (OT), responsible for monitoring and managing industrial processes and assets, represents a prime target for malicious actors. To counteract potential threats, OT environments are often air-gapped, relying on portable media devices for essential tasks such as software updates, audits, and data transfers.

Recognizing this vulnerability, OPSWAT engineered the MetaDefender Kiosk, a revolutionary solution acting as a digital security guard for these sensitive environments. Additional features of the kiosk include:

  • Advanced threat prevention with OPSWAT multiscanning with more than 30 antivirus engines, file-based vulnerability assessment, country of origin detection, Deep Content Disarm and Reconstruction (Deep CDR), and Proactive Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
  • Policy enforcement to ensure that all removable media devices are scanned prior to use. This helps to provide operators with peace of mind that their policy is being followed.
  • Compliance with transient device security requirements and data privacy standards such as NIST, HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR, NERC CIP, NEI 18-08, ISA/IEC, and ISO/IEC.
  • Scalability to fit customers’ budgets, strategies and workflows

The recognition not only highlights OPSWAT's dedication to excellence but also reinforces its position as a trailblazer in developing cutting-edge security solutions.
