VESZPRÉM, Hungary – Oct. 23, 2025 – OPSWAT, a global leader in critical infrastructure protection (CIP), last week opened Hungary’s first dedicated cybersecurity center for critical infrastructure in Veszprém. This milestone represents another step in OPSWAT’s mission to protect the world’s most critical industries, following the company’s recent investments in London, UK and the Washington, D.C. area.

At the new Veszprém CIP lab site, OPSWAT will bring together local engineering talent, global expertise, and advanced technologies to simulate realistic industrial environments where customers, partners, students and academic researchers can:

  • Test and validate OPSWAT technologies in operational settings
  • Collaborate on research, training, and workforce development
  • Develop security solutions to strengthen the defenses of energy, manufacturing, and other critical sectors.

Our expansion in Veszprém reflects our belief in and commitment to the incredible talent and potential in Hungary and the region. With it, we are investing in the future of Veszprém as a key hub for cybersecurity innovation, education and resilience in Central Europe.

OPSWAT has been operating in Veszprém for more than 11 years and employs approximately one hundred people. The new center is the company’s second in the region aside from its location in Timișoara, Romania.

In addition to R&D labs, the facility features the company’s largest and most visually advanced CIP lab, which, for example, allows visitors to easily distinguish between harmless and malicious data flows. With 135 m2 of demonstration space and further educational areas, it is designed for technology meetups, educational sessions, and partner showcases. It also includes a state-of-the-art studio with interactive educational modeling built to create professional cybersecurity training videos.

On October 15, 2025, the company celebrated the opening with a ribbon cutting by Veszprém Mayor Gyula Porga, CEO Czarny and local leadership in front of 130 distinguished guests.
