What do you do at OPSWAT?
I started at OPSWAT on the web team, overseeing web projects and web strategy for major initiatives.
My role has now shifted to building out and leading our SEO, optimization, and web metrics programs. My favorite part of working in web strategy and SEO is mixing creativity and intuition with science and data.
When did you join OPSWAT?
I joined OPSWAT in May 2022.
If you could describe OPSWAT in one word, what would it be and why?
If I could describe OPSWAT in one word it would be dedicated. The teams at OPSWAT are extremely dedicated and driven to excel.
As a company, OPSWAT consistently makes decisions to support the mission and it never wavers from the goal of delivering the best solutions to its customers.
What do you like most about your direct team?
It is cliche, but our team is truly exceptional. Over the past two years, our brand and marketing department has experienced tremendous growth. Although there have been growing pains, it has also created a sense of collected achievement.
We are supportive and celebratory but also driven and honest, I value that. I have immense respect for every member of my team.
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
Here are my top three:
- Listen more than you speak.
- Honest feedback is your quickest path to growth.
- Closed-mindedness is your quickest path to failure.
What has been your favorite project to work on at OPSWAT?
My favorite project was our full website redesign in 2023. It was an incredibly challenging project, but seeing the vision go from idea to reality was surreal and extremely rewarding.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
Before transitioning to marketing, I was a medical malpractice paralegal. I read and summarized medical records, attended trials, and interviewed jurors.
After I became a mom, I realized I didn’t want an attorney’s lifestyle—which would have been the next step. I also had a passion for SEO and web marketing that I had been doing for five years as a side hustle. So, I turned that into my fulltime career.
What are some of your favorite travel/vacation memories?
I have three favorites:
- Visiting castles and going to Disneyland with my daughter in Paris, France.
- Touring wineries in Sonoma, California for a friend group’s joint 40th birthday celebration.
- A yearly trip to Seeley Lake in Montana.
