What do you do at OPSWAT?
As part of the Corporate Account Sales Team here at OPSWAT, I manage customer relationships, selling to new customers as well as managing existing business and advising our customers on how OPSWAT can be their number one vendor partner. I make sure existing and new prospects are up-to-speed on the OPSWAT product portfolio. We speak on high technical strategies to see where we can fit in their security stack.
If you could describe OPSWAT in one word, what would it be and why?
Exciting. The reason for it being exciting is because I get to come into the office every day and work with great co-workers who love what they do. We help each other get better every day and we root for each other to exceed our goals. Also, OPSWAT technology is unique, and we are constantly learning new use cases that are happening in the world where OPSWAT can come into play. We have so many different products and being able to understand them at a high level is pretty exciting when talking to customers.
Your Time at OPSWAT
What do you like most about the office where you work?
The ability to interact and collaborate with my team and even other departments to make sure I am successful on a daily basis.
What do you like most about your direct team?
I like that my team is always willing to help ensure I succeed. They are my biggest supporters here and they are just as excited as I am when I do something great. No one on our team is above anyone and we all want to see each other win.
What has been your favorite project to work on at OPSWAT?
Being able to pitch the whole OPSWAT product portfolio on video. I had to do this project six months in. OPSWAT has over 20+ products so being able to understand all our product offerings was very challenging but also rewarding.
How did you begin your career in the cybersecurity industry?
My dad has been in the cybersecurity industry for over 20 years so I kind of learned from him. I graduated from the University of South Florida with an MIS degree where I took some courses around cybersecurity. Out of college, I started at an endpoint security protection company. Met amazing people there who helped me land at OPSWAT today. The cybersecurity industry is fascinating because things are always changing. The technology is also very interesting to learn which Is why I enjoy what I do.
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
LISTEN. I am still very young in my career, and I have been lucky enough to be around talented people with many years of experience. Picking up on things by listening and learning how they approach things has helped me be very successful so far in my career.
The You Outside of Work
What word would you choose to describe yourself?
Coachable. Since I’m young in my career, I love to get feedback from colleagues on what I can improve and also what I’m doing right. Listening to what they have to say without taking it personally has gotten me where I am today.
What are your favorite activities outside of work?
Sports, sports, and more sports. I love watching sports and playing in recreational sports leagues in the Tampa area when I can. I also enjoy golfing and hanging out with my friends and family.
