Product Overview

OPSWAT MetaDefender Email Security addresses all cybersecurity threats on emails and offers advanced threat prevention, while significantly decreasing the outbreak detection time of malware (to virtually zero). Neutralizes attachments before they are delivered to prevent zero-day attacks and use the best-of-breed anti-spam and anti-phishing engines to prevent spam outbreaks and phishing attacks. The current release includes new capabilities to simplify IT security operation management.

Release Highlights

The newest release offers significant architectural changes, that enable administrators to manage multiple MetaDefender Email Security instances by using single shared email history and quarantine database. The new user-based quarantine reports feature significantly reduces the daily tasks of email security administrators. The new disclaimer options allow companies to inform and alarm users according to the scan result of the emails.

New Features

  • Shared email history and quarantine database

Allow administrators to deploy and manage multiple MetaDefender Email Security instances using one common shared email history and quarantine database. This feature simplifies operation by managing emails processed by any instance in a single UI. The new version of MetaDefender Email Security offers a robust solution for companies that manage a large number of users and require more than one instance.

  • User-based quarantine:

Inform users about their quarantined emails and allow them to rescan, deliver or delete such emails. On the other hand, once IT administrators set different permissions, it significantly simplifies their daily tasks.

The new Quarantine Report feature makes it easy for administrators to define filters, rules, classifications when creating new user-based quarantine reports – and user permissions can be set.

  • New disclaimer style for the emails

Previously we have the default text-based disclaimer, which offers basic configuration options. With the current development, we have updated them to include four categories (None, Information, Warning, and Critical) and also modernized the look of the styles.

Administrators can change the style and the content - in the editor view - of the disclaimer block in many different ways:

    • Users may be informed or warned that the status of a particular message is critical or a warning.
    • There are predefined disclaimer styles available in the settings, while advanced administrators could customize the style manually using HTML coding, offering endless possibilities.

If the HTML-based emails are not supported, our solution still provides the option to send disclaimers as plain text.
