We are thrilled to announce the release of MetaDefender Core™ v5.13.0. This release extends OS (operating system) support, while offering more actionable insights from the Executive Dashboard, history tracking, user management, and enhanced data security.
Highlights
New OS Support
As Red Hat announced that they would discontinue development of CentOS, we’re now introducing Rocky Linux 9.4 as a replacement for CentOS 7 starting from this version. In addition, Ubuntu 22.04 now supports CIS Level 1 Compliance and is available for upgrades.

Direct Download Support Packages
When issues arise, it is crucial for teams to troubleshoot more quickly and efficiently. MetaDefender Core allows users to directly generate and download support packages from the new UI.
Track and Monitor Setup Files Location for MetaDefender Core Configurations
MetaDefender Core comes with a built-in monitoring feature that lets users check the status and volume of configuration files on specific storage disks, like Disk C. However, some users prefer to store these files on different disks, such as Disk D or Disk E. In this release, MetaDefender Core allows users to monitor all assigned storage disks and their folders. This means users can easily track where their configuration files are stored across multiple disks and stay informed about their status and volume in each location.
Actionable Insights with Enhanced UI
We continually refresh and enhance the new reporting features that bring all critical metrics in a clear and actionable view. The new dashboard UI and Executive Report come with:
Scheduled Executive Report
Reuse Processing Result
Processing History via Email
Total Number of Finished Scans In a Batch
Export a summary of users and groups, simplifying user management and audits.
Remove Sensitive Data from Logs
MetaDefender Core provides the capability to remove sensitive data from logs, which often contain confidential information such as IPv4, IPv6, MAC address, and file path.
Restrict Unsupported File Types
To further enhance security, the ‘File Type Blocking’ feature now restricts any unsupported file types, reducing potential vulnerabilities in file processing. It also expands to block all file types that are not supported by the Country of Origin engine.
More Detailed Adaptive Sandbox’s Scan Results
For files scanned with Adaptive Sandbox, the result display now provides more details as well as adding informative records in ‘Quarantine’.
“Malicious” Scan Result with Adaptive Sandbox
“Benign” Scan Result with Adaptive Sandbox
Scan with Adaptive Sandbox in Quarantine
Scan Result in Quarantine with Adaptive Sandbox
API and Backend Improvements
For customers with complex configurations, this release introduces Syslog settings configuration via API, providing greater control over logging and integration with broader systems.
MetaDefender Core’s backend upgrades include a NGINX upgrade to 1.26.x and support for PostgreSQL 16 in remote setups, enhancing performance and ensuring compatibility with the latest database and web server standards.
