Workflow Engine

Customizable Security Policies

Not all organizations have the same security needs. Even within an organization, there are often requirements for multiple security policies. MetaDefender’s Workflow Engine allows administrators to create multiple workflows to handle different security policies based on users and file source.

Administrative Flexibility

MetaDefender’s Workflow Engine gives administrators the flexibility to choose multiple scenarios, to ensure that all security policies are handled appropriately. For example, administrators may choose to scan all external files with multiple anti-malware engines and then sanitize them, or sanitize files first and then scan for threats with multiple engines.

Benefits of the Workflow Engine:

  • Improve Security - The workflow engine allows you to set the appropriate security level per user and file type, and enables IT to make quick decisions on data security policy, for instance to block certain file types in case of an outbreak.
  • Enhance Performance - By blocking certain file types and setting the order of file processing, performance can be enhanced.
  • Lower Total Cost of Ownership - With the workflow engine you have the flexibility to pick and choose features without requiring further API integration. For instance if you start by using only multi-scanning, you can add data sanitization and vulnerability assessment later without requiring further development.

Defining Multiple Workflows

MetaDefender allows administrators to define multiple workflows to handle different security policies. Each of the steps in a workflow can be customized for specific users or file sources, allowing the appropriate security policies to be set.

Workflow Configuration Options

MetaDefender's workflow engine allows you to configure multiple options for archive handling, whitelisting, blacklisting, data sanitization, multi-scanning and other advanced settings per user group. Read more about the workflow engine configuration options.
