Director of Engineering — MetaDefender Email Security
Reports to: VP, Products
Protecting the World’s Critical Infrastructure
OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage they need to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. Trusted by more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions worldwide — including many of the world’s largest governments, utilities, financial institutions, and defense contractors — OPSWAT protects the systems that keep society running.
The Product: MetaDefender Email Security
MetaDefender Email Security is OPSWAT’s email threat prevention portfolio, trusted by governments and critical infrastructure operators to stop file-borne and email-borne threats before they reach the inbox. It comprises two complementary products designed for different environments and customer profiles — MetaDefender Email Gateway Security, deployed on-premises in front of existing mail servers, and MetaDefender Cloud Email Security, which augments Microsoft 365 — each embedding OPSWAT’s threat prevention technology, including Deep CDR™ Technology, Metascan Multiscanning, Proactive DLP, and Predictive Alin AI, directly into the mail flow.
This role owns the engineering for the products across both deployment models — the on-premises gateway and the cloud-native Microsoft 365 service — each with its own security, assurance, and operational demands, and all built to scale.
About This Role
We are looking for a Director of Engineering who leads from the front. This is a hands-on, technically-centric leadership role — not a pure people-management position — with full accountability for the engineering of the MetaDefender Email Security: architecture, delivery, quality, and the teams that build it. You will lead engineering across multiple deployment form factors — from air-gapped high security environments to native-cloud deployments — operating with the rigor of a principal engineer and the clarity of an executive.
You are an AI-native engineering leader. You have personally orchestrated fleets of AI agents to architect, build, test, and ship production systems, and you have launched and released real products through a full AI-powered software development lifecycle (SDLC) — from specification and code generation to automated testing, review, and deployment. Product Management defines what to ship; you define how to build it. You own the end-to-end delivery of the roadmap Product Management sets, hold the delivery bar, and build a high-performance culture the rest of OPSWAT’s engineering portfolio will look to as a model for AI-native development. You report to the VP, Products and lead a distributed team across Romania and Hungary, while the role itself can be based anywhere — with a preference for the UK, USA, or near an OPSWAT-operated location.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead as an AI-first effort: make AI agents a first-class part of how the team works — orchestrating agents to create specs, generate code and tests, verify results, and run reviews — while ensuring humans own and validate every line that ships. Treat automation and intelligence as the default, not the exception.
- Stay hands-on: remain directly in the codebase — setting architecture patterns, writing and reviewing critical code, prototyping, and unblocking hard technical problems. You lead by doing, not only by delegating.
- Own end-to-end delivery of the roadmap: take full ownership of delivering the product roadmap set by Product Management — turning the “what to ship” into the “how to build,” and owning execution sequencing, technical risk, quality, security, and release across every deployment form factor.
- Set technical direction (the “how”): drive the architecture and technology choices that underpin a product serving high-assurance environments at scale. Hold a strong engineering point of view and be willing to defend it.
- Build and lead a high-performance team: recruit, develop, and retain top engineers and their leads across Romania and Hungary; create clear career paths and norms for code quality and review; and build a culture where strong engineers want to stay and grow.
- Drive performance-based management: set clear, measurable expectations and run a rigorous, fair performance culture — recognizing and accelerating top performers, raising the bar continuously, and addressing underperformance decisively by coaching where there is a path and upgrading or exiting the role where there is not.
- Hold a security-first quality bar: champion code review with a security lens for both human-written and AI-generated code, catching injection risks, insecure defaults, missing validation, and privilege-escalation vectors in file-handling and authentication paths before they ship.
- Raise engineering velocity: continuously improve how the team works — CI/CD pipelines, AI-assisted development workflows, incident response, and operational maturity — so the team ships faster and more reliably over time.
- Codify AI-native practices for the portfolio: establish the playbooks, AI context files, coding harnesses, test frameworks, and review norms developed on this product so other OPSWAT product teams can adopt them.
- Partner cross-functionally: work shoulder-to-shoulder with the VP, Products, plus Product Management, Design, and security leaders — turning the product roadmap (the what) into engineering execution (the how), committing to scope and timelines, and pushing back clearly when trade-offs require it.
What We Need From You
- Full agentic development experience (required): You have personally run a full agentic, AI-powered SDLC end-to-end — and have done so in B2B and high-security enterprise environments where compliance, data sensitivity, and assurance requirements are non-negotiable. You can show real work (PRs, commit history, shipped products, or a portfolio) where agentic workflows drove delivery — not slideware about AI.
- A product launched via a full AI-powered SDLC: demonstrable experience taking a product from spec to release using an end-to-end AI-assisted lifecycle (spec generation, code/test generation, automated verification, AI-assisted review, and CI/CD), with you accountable for the outcome.
- Proven engineering leadership: 8+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years leading engineering teams (including managing managers/leads) through complex product delivery at scale. You can point to the decisions you made and why.
- Performance-based leadership: a track record of building high-performing teams through rigorous, fair performance management — promoting excellence, making timely talent decisions, and reducing or replacing low performers when needed.
- Deep technical excellence: strong, current software engineering fundamentals — solid command of design patterns, SOLID principles, and modern architecture. You can evaluate AI-assisted code with the same rigor as human-authored code. AI tools amplify strong fundamentals; they do not replace them.
- Scalable systems experience: a proven history building scalable, distributed solutions — including relational/document databases, cloud-native services, and modern CI/CD systems.
- Quality and test discipline: a high bar for tested, maintainable code; you use AI to accelerate test scaffolding, then validate that coverage is real and meaningful.
- Distributed-team leadership: demonstrated ability to lead and align engineers across countries and time zones, building trust, clarity, and accountability in a remote/hybrid, multi-country setup.
- Talent magnet and clear communicator: you identify strong engineers, make a compelling case for why they should join, and create an environment where they do their best work — and you communicate technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders without oversimplifying.
- Security-conscious by default: operating in critical infrastructure markets means security is never an afterthought; you hold the team to a security-first bar on design, code review, and incident response.
It Would Be Nice If You Had
- Domain familiarity: understanding of email as a communication channel and the underlying technology and protocols. Appreciation of the different deployment methods for email security and their characteristics.
- Cloud services familiarity: experience of integrating products with M365 and/or Google Workspace and their associated API ecosystems
- .NET / C# ecosystem: hands-on or managerial experience with .NET Core / C# — enough to evaluate architectural decisions, review PRs credibly, and hire well for the stack.
- Cloud-native and containers: experience leading the design or operation of cloud-native SaaS platforms — Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/Azure/GCP — including using AI agents to script infrastructure and deployment automation.
- AI context-file authoring: experience writing AI context files (e.g., CLAUDE.md, .cursorrules, or equivalent) that encode architecture decisions and forbidden patterns for consistent, safe AI output across a team.
- AI in CI/CD pipelines: familiarity running AI agents inside pipelines — auto-fixing lint, generating missing tests, or running safe migrations as pipeline steps — not as experiments, but as how the team actually works.
- International team experience: a track record of building and maintaining engineering culture and delivery quality across multiple countries and time zones.
- Async and high-throughput systems: experience validating concurrency and thread-safety in high-throughput services.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Lead a product trusted by critical infrastructure customers across air-gapped, cross-domain, internet-connected, and native-cloud deployments — the architecture and culture decisions you make now will shape it for years.
- Influence beyond this product: the AI-native patterns you establish will propagate across OPSWAT’s engineering portfolio.
- Work from anywhere — a worldwide, remote-friendly role with a preference for the UK, USA, or a location near an OPSWAT-operated country.
- Stable, growing international company with an exceptional customer base across 50+ countries.
- A mandate to build AI-native engineering practices — and the latitude to do it your way.
- Attractive compensation with regular performance assessments and flexibility for the right candidate.

Summary
OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage needed to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. Over the last 20 years our commitment to innovative technology has earned the trust of more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions globally, solidifying our role in protecting the world’s critical infrastructure and securing our way of life.
The Position
At OPSWAT, we’re on a mission to protect the world’s most critical infrastructure. As a U.S.-based cybersecurity leader, we’re expanding our R&D footprint in Vietnam — and we’re looking for a passionate, hands-on Associate Software Engineering Manager to lead development for one of our most strategic solutions: MetaDefender Secure Managed File Transfer.
MetaDefender Secure MFT empowers enterprises to securely transfer sensitive files across systems, networks, and borders. Trusted by governments and global organizations, we are at the heart of secure data movement — and we’re expanding its future in Ho Chi Minh City.

- Coach engineers to become effective orchestrators of AI agents — moving the team from manual coding toward specifying, supervising, and validating work executed by agents.
- Guide the design and implementation of secure, scalable backend systems (C#/.NET) and modern frontend interfaces (React, Angular, or Vue).
- Collaborate with global teams — from Vietnam to the U.S. — to shape the product roadmap and execute major initiatives.
- Champion software quality, performance, and usability while driving innovation across the stack.
- Foster a team culture built on trust, learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends in cybersecurity, secure coding, and AI-assisted and agentic software development.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as an engineering manager or tech lead, with proven success leading and growing full-stack development teams.
- Required: hands-on experience with AI development and agentic workflows — using AI coding agents and tools (e.g., agentic IDEs, coding assistants, agent SDKs/frameworks) to ship real production software.
- Required: a track record of driving an engineering team to adopt and scale agentic AI workflows — establishing the practices, prompts/context, evals, review gates, and metrics needed to safely increase the share of AI-generated code over time.
- Strong hands-on experience in both backend (.NET/C#) and frontend (React, Angular) technologies.
- Ability to effectively monitor and assess team productivity — including the throughput and quality of AI-assisted work — ensuring alignment with project goals and timely delivery of high-quality results.
- Solid understanding of system architecture, enterprise integration, and secure development best practices.
- Experience with secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS) and deployment across Windows and Linux environments.
- Familiarity with .NET Core, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Excellent English communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Ability to manage complexity, prioritize work, and lead with empathy and clarity.
- Experience working with international teams and managing cross-border collaboration.
Why OPSWAT?
At OPSWAT, we’re not just building products — we’re protecting the systems the world depends on. MetaDefender Managed File Transfer is one of our fastest-growing solutions, and this is your opportunity to lead its future — and to build one of our first truly AI-first, agentic engineering teams — from the heart of Vietnam’s thriving tech scene.
You’ll join a company that values innovation, impact, and integrity — and a team that’s growing fast with the support of a global organization. If you’re ready to lead, mentor, and build secure software that matters in the age of AI, let’s make it happen — together.

Director of Cross-Domain Solutions
Product Engineering
AMER
Director of Cross-Domain Solutions
The Position
Cross-domain solutions are how the world’s most sensitive organizations move data between networks at different classification levels without moving the threats with it. OPSWAT already owns some of the hardest-to-build pieces — Deep CDR™ Technology, MetaDefender Core™ multiscanning, content inspection, software supply chain validation, AI-powered zero-day threat detection (our sandbox), vulnerability-exploit prevention, and hardware-enforced data diodes — plus proven, trusted deployments for file-exchange workflows across multiple data channels, including storage, Managed File Transfer, and CI/CD pipelines, along with the engineering talent and customer trust behind them. We are creating this role to put dedicated product ownership and deep cross-domain experience behind that strength: a single focal point to shape these proven capabilities into a CDS (cross-domain solution) that customers in the UK, Five Eyes, and allied defense communities can buy, deploy, and trust — and to accelerate our growth in this space.
That is this role. You will own OPSWAT’s cross-domain solution as a product: the strategy, the packaging, the assurance roadmap, and the integration of our portfolio into a coherent pipeline that maps to the standards our buyers are adopting. You will partner with a committed, cross-functional go-to-market group and a deep technical bench, and you will be the single accountable owner who brings these capabilities together into a repeatable, productized cross-domain offering.
At OPSWAT, product leaders stay deeply connected to technology. You will engage in architecture-level discussions, thoughtfully challenge design decisions, and take pride in shipping high-assurance products that work in the most constrained and regulated environments on earth.
Core Responsibilities
Cross-Domain Solution — Product Strategy & Technical Direction
- Own the product vision for OPSWAT’s CDS offering: the low-to-high transfer pipeline built on our CDR-inferred Transformation Engine, MetaDefender Core™ multiscanning, Proactive DLP™, software supply chain / SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) validation, AI-powered zero-day threat detection, and AI vulnerability-exploit prevention, and hardware-enforced diodes.
- Translate the NSA/NCDSMO “Raise the Bar” principles — Redundant, Always Invoked, Independent Implementations, Non-Bypassable — and the UK NCSC cross-domain principles into a concrete product and assurance roadmap.
- Decide which capabilities are productized versus delivered as configuration, and drive the re-engineering needed for the portfolio to operate as one seamless solution.
Assurance & Compliance Roadmap
- Own the sequenced path to certification: meet the UK / Five Eyes bar (NCSC principles, NATO NIAPC) now, and build toward formal NCDSMO / Raise the Bar alignment over time.
- Partner with accreditation bodies, evaluation labs, and ecosystem partners (e.g., INFODAS for SECRET-level and NATO deployments) to expand the addressable set of programs.
Market, GTM & Customer
- Be the product voice in CDS deals: qualify requirements, support system integrators, and shape the land-and-expand motion across the established revenue streams.
- Work with Product Marketing, Sales SMEs, and Solutions Engineering to keep messaging, battle cards, and demos technically accurate and competitive against established cross-domain incumbents and point-solution vendors.
Portfolio Integration & Deployment
- Ensure the CDS pipeline deploys cleanly in on-premises, air-gapped, and classified environments across Windows and Linux.
- Drive the integration seams between OPSWAT products so customers experience one solution, not many.
What You Will Do
- Package the product. Convert the proofs-of-concept and joint-solution engagements already in development into a cohesive, packaged cross-domain product offering — the core build-out of this role — including product packaging and pricing.
- Own the competitive narrative. Produce a cross-domain competitive landscape analysis and turn it into sales-ready battle cards.
- Drive demand and enablement. Build the demand-development strategy, GTM training, sales enablement, and repeatable playbooks that let the field qualify and sell CDS consistently.
- Prove it with customers. Study existing customer use cases and accounts in development with joint solutions, run POCs (proofs-of-concept), and fold the successful ones back into the packaged offering.
- Open new routes to market. Identify concrete partnerships and contract vehicles to explore for cross-domain growth.
- Own the business view. Stay on top of the numbers and be ready to walk the business with executive leadership at any time — pipeline, line of sight on current business and sales opportunities, and full awareness of and accountability for every GTM campaign, activity, and result. Decision-making here is data-driven and data-oriented by default.
Minimum Qualifications
This is a hands-on, builder’s role, and we expect modern, AI-first working practices. This role is a great fit for you if you:
- Bring 10+ years in product management or product leadership, with significant time owning security or infrastructure products deployed in customer environments — not purely SaaS — including on-prem and air-gapped.
- Have direct experience with cross-domain solutions, high-assurance guards, data diodes, or the defense/intelligence security domain. You understand classification boundaries, low-to-high versus high-to-low transfer, and what “accredited” actually requires.
- Have working fluency with the relevant frameworks: NSA/NCDSMO Raise the Bar, UK NCSC cross-domain principles, Common Criteria / EAL, NATO NIAPC, and risk-management and accreditation processes.
- Have sold and delivered into government/defense — ideally UK MOD, Royal Navy, or Five Eyes — through system integrators and partners.
- Take a deeply hands-on approach: this is a builder’s role, so you are in the architecture and trade-off discussions, write the specifications yourself, and challenge technical decisions directly — not from a distance.
- Demonstrate full-scale, hands-on use of AI across the whole job — from research and competitive analysis through specification, prototyping, and production. We expect concrete, recent examples of the AI tools and workflows you use and how they have measurably boosted your and your team’s productivity and outcomes. This is a hard expectation, not a nice-to-have.
- Are a strong communicator and internal seller: you can align Product Marketing, Sales, and engineering, and present a strategy to executive leadership.
Strong Differentiators
- Background in content inspection / CDR, malware analysis, DLP, or file-processing pipelines that handle large-volume, mission-critical workloads.
- Former defense, intelligence, or system-integrator experience (e.g., DISA, MOD, or the NCSC ecosystem).
- Experience taking a product through formal security accreditation or certification.
- Familiarity with critical infrastructure and OT/IT cross-domain use cases.
Experience building a new product line or business from early traction to repeatable revenue

Director of Engineering — Meta Defender Managed File Transfer
Reports to: VP, Products
Protecting the World’s Critical Infrastructure
OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage they need to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. Trusted by more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions worldwide — including many of the world’s largest governments, utilities, financial institutions, and defense contractors — OPSWAT protects the systems that keep society running.
The Product: MetaDefender Managed File Transfer
MetaDefender Managed File Transfer is OPSWAT’s secure managed file transfer solution, trusted by governments and critical infrastructure operators to move sensitive files safely across enterprise networks and partner boundaries. It embeds OPSWAT’s threat prevention technology — multiscanning, Deep CDR™ Technology, and DLP — directly into every file flow.
This role owns the engineering for the product across its full range of deployment form factors — air-gapped, cross-domain, internet-connected, and native-cloud environments — each with its own security, assurance, and operational demands, and all built to scale.
About This Role
We are looking for a Director of Engineering who leads from the front. This is a hands-on, technically-centric leadership role — not a pure people-management position — with full accountability for the engineering of MetaDefender Managed File Transfer: architecture, delivery, quality, and the teams that build it. You will lead engineering across multiple deployment form factors — from air-gapped and cross-domain environments to internet-connected and native-cloud deployments — operating with the rigor of a principal engineer and the clarity of an executive.
You own the end-to-end delivery of the roadmap Product Management sets, hold the delivery bar, and build a high-performance culture that the rest of OPSWAT’s engineering portfolio will look to as a model for AI-native development. You report to the VP, Products, and lead a distributed team across Romania, Vietnam, and Hungary, while the role itself can be based anywhere, with a preference for the UK, USA, or near an OPSWAT-operated location.
- Build and lead a high-performance team: recruit, develop, and retain top engineers and their leads across Romania, Vietnam, and Hungary; create clear career paths and norms for code quality and review; and build a culture where strong engineers want to stay and grow.
What We Need From You
- Full agentic development experience (required): you have personally run a full agentic, AI-powered SDLC end to end — and have done so in B2B and high-security enterprise environments where compliance, data sensitivity, and assurance requirements are non-negotiable.
- Domain familiarity: experience with managed file transfer, secure content delivery, data security, or critical infrastructure markets — you understand the trade-offs customers in this space make.

Principal Hardware Product Manager – Security Appliances
Product
Tampa
About the Role
We are looking for a Principal Hardware Product Manager to own the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle of our security appliance portfolio. Our appliances sit at the front line of our customers' most sensitive environments — critical infrastructure, defense, government, and enterprise OT/IT boundaries — and the physical platform is as much a part of the security promise as the software running on it.
This role is the single point of accountability for the hardware itself: from market and customer requirements, through industrial design and NPI, to certification, mass production, sustaining, and end-of-life. You will operate at the intersection of hardware engineering, supply chain, software product, and compliance, translating business strategy into a hardware portfolio that is differentiated, certifiable, manufacturable, and serviceable at scale.
This is a builder role for someone who thinks in product, speaks the language of EEs and supply chain, and is comfortable owning million-dollar BOM and inventory decisions alongside go-to-market positioning.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Roadmap & Lifecycle Ownership
- Own the multi-year hardware roadmap across the appliance portfolio — SKU strategy, form factors, performance tiers, refresh cadence, and platform consolidation.
- Drive the full NPI lifecycle (Concept → Proto → EVT → DVT → PVT → Mass Production) in partnership with hardware engineering and operations, owning gate criteria, schedule, and go/no-go decisions.
- Manage product lifecycle stages end-to-end — General Availability, sustaining, End-of-Sale, End-of-Service, and End-of-Life — including last-time-buy planning, customer migration paths, and field replacement strategy.
- Define and publish lifecycle policies (support windows, RMA terms, spare-parts SLAs) that customers, sales, and support can rely on.
- Own the appliance P&L levers the PM controls: BOM cost targets, ASP, margin, attach rates, refresh-driven revenue, and inventory exposure.
Hardware Innovation & Competitive Differentiation
- Translate customer, market, and threat-landscape insights into hardware requirements — performance, ports/throughput, tamper resistance, secure boot, TPM/HSM integration, ruggedization, and physical security features.
- Run structured competitive analysis against peer security appliance vendors; identify and close hardware gaps and create defensible differentiation.
- Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies — new silicon (x86, ARM, custom acceleration), networking interfaces, storage, AI/ML acceleration, secure enclaves — and decide what graduates into the roadmap.
- Own the appliance design language and customer experience: chassis, indicators, serviceability, deployment ergonomics for both SOC operators and non-technical field users.
- Build the hardware business case for each new platform: TAM/SAM, target customer profile, pricing, projected volumes, payback period, and risk register.
Certifications & Regulatory Compliance
- Own the certification roadmap across the portfolio: FIPS 140-3, Common Criteria / NIAP (against the relevant Protection Profiles, e.g., NDcPP), DoDIN APL, FCC/CE/UKCA, UL/IEC 62368, RoHS/REACH, and country-specific marks.
- Sequence certifications against customer demand and revenue impact — scope, budget, schedule, and lab selection — and manage them as first-class roadmap items, not afterthoughts.
- Coordinate with software PM and compliance engineering on dependencies between hardware certifications and the cryptographic modules / OS / firmware they validate against.
- Maintain a certification matrix by SKU and by market, and ensure sales, marketing, and customers always have accurate, current claims.
- Plan for recertification, delta evaluations, and assurance maintenance as platforms evolve and standards (e.g., FIPS 140-2 → 140-3, new PP versions) change.
Resourcing & Cross-Functional Program Management
- Build the resourcing plan for each hardware program: engineering headcount, ODM/EMS partner allocation, lab time, certification budget, and tooling investment.
- Defend program priorities in portfolio reviews; make explicit trade-offs between competing hardware initiatives, sustaining work, and certification load.
- Track NRE, tooling, and prototype budgets with finance and operations; flag overruns early and propose recovery options.
- Run a clear cadence of program reviews, gate reviews, and exec readouts so leadership always knows the state of each platform without having to ask.
Supply Chain Collaboration
- Partner with supply chain and operations on sourcing strategy, ODM/EMS selection, dual-sourcing, geographic diversification, and tariff/trade-compliance posture.
- Co-own demand forecasting and the rolling S&OP signal for each appliance SKU, balancing stock-out risk against inventory write-off exposure.
- Lead the response to component EOL notices, allocation events, and supply disruptions — assess design/certification impact of substitutions, drive Last-Time-Buy sizing, and approve alternate-component qualifications.
- Set and track quality KPIs with manufacturing partners — DPPM, FPY, RMA rate, MTBF — and drive corrective action when they drift.
- Own cost-down programs in mature platforms: component renegotiation, design-for-cost revisions, test-time optimization, and logistics restructuring.
Collaboration with Hardware Engineering
- Be the voice of the customer and the market inside the hardware engineering team — clear, prioritized, technically credible requirements, not wish lists.
- Co-author the PRD and platform spec with engineering leads; sign off on trade-offs between performance, cost, schedule, certifiability, and serviceability.
- Stay close to the technical work — attend design reviews, read schematics-level summaries, understand thermal/power/EMC constraints — enough to make informed product calls, without trying to do engineering's job.
- Drive HW/SW integration decisions with software PMs and firmware leads: secure boot chain, provisioning, telemetry, in-field update strategy, and diagnostics.
- Champion serviceability and field experience as a first-class design requirement — installation, replacement, diagnostics, and on-site support workflows.
Qualifications
Required
- 10+ years of product management experience, of which at least 6 in hardware product management for networked, embedded, or appliance-class products, with a track record of leading multiple platforms from concept to mass production.
- Deep, working understanding of the NPI process and gate model (Concept, Proto, EVT, DVT, PVT, MP) and the artifacts and decisions at each gate.
- Strong commercial instincts: comfortable owning BOM cost, ASP, margin, and inventory exposure as product KPIs — not just feature lists.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to brief executives, write a defensible business case, and run a productive cross-functional program review.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
Strongly Preferred
- Domain experience in cybersecurity products — network security (NGFW, IDS/IPS, segmentation), OT/ICS security, USB/peripheral security, secure gateways, or data diodes.
- Familiarity with public sector and defense procurement: DoDIN APL, CSfC, federal channel motions, and how certification status drives deal flow.
- Exposure to ruggedized, air-gapped, or critical-infrastructure deployments and the constraints they impose on hardware design (environmental, EMC, supply chain provenance).
- Familiarity with secure hardware primitives: TPM, HSM, secure enclaves, secure boot, anti-tamper, and supply-chain integrity controls (e.g., SBOM for hardware, attestation).
- MBA or equivalent commercial training is a plus, but a strong track record matters more.
What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months
- A clear, published 24-month hardware roadmap with explicit positioning, target customer segments, certification plan, and NPI schedule for each platform.
- A documented lifecycle policy adopted across product, sales, support, and operations, with no ambiguity on EOS/EOL dates or migration paths.
- At least one platform shipped or de-risked through a major NPI gate, on cost and on schedule.
- A certification matrix that sales can trust and that proactively unlocks at least one new market segment or named customer opportunity.
- A measurably tighter feedback loop with supply chain — fewer surprise EOL events, faster substitution cycles, and a defensible inventory posture.
How We Work
We expect hardware PMs to operate as owners. That means making the call on trade-offs, not escalating every decision; writing things down so the organization can move faster; saying no to good ideas when they don't fit the strategy; and bringing the business case before the wish list. We don't expect you to know everything on day one — we do expect you to be the person the company turns to for an answer on this portfolio within your first two quarters.

This role isn’t just about managing people — it’s about leading innovation, owning architecture, and growing a full-stack engineering team in a critical product space. Above all, it’s about pioneering an AI-first, agentic engineering practice where AI agents and human engineers work together — with the goal of progressively moving toward an organization where the vast majority of code is generated and maintained through AI-driven agentic workflows.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build, lead, and mentor a full-stack engineering team working on MetaDefender Secure Managed File Transfer.
- Drive an AI-first, agentic engineering culture — define how the team uses AI coding agents and agentic workflows day-to-day, with a clear roadmap toward the majority of production code being AI-generated under strong human review and governance.
- Design, operate, and continuously improve agentic development pipelines (planning, code generation, automated testing, review, and remediation) and the guardrails — context engineering, evals, and quality gates — that keep AI-generated code secure and reliable.
- Ensure your team is building with a strong focus on secure architecture, compliance, and real-world reliability — including for AI-generated code.

- Build and lead a high-performance team: recruit, develop, and retain top engineers and their leads across Romania, Vietnam, and Hungary; create clear career paths and norms for code quality and review; and build a culture where strong engineers want to stay and grow.
What We Need From You
- Full agentic development experience (required): you have personally run a full agentic, AI-powered SDLC end to end — and have done so in B2B and high-security enterprise environments where compliance, data sensitivity, and assurance requirements are non-negotiable.
- Domain familiarity: experience with managed file transfer, secure content delivery, data security, or critical infrastructure markets — you understand the trade-offs customers in this space make.

To submit resumes for our jobs, there must be a recruiting contract approved by our legal team and endorsed by both parties. We are currently not accepting additional 3rd party agencies at this time.
