AI Native Software Engineer - Secure File Gateway
Product Engineering
Vietnam
Summary
OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage needed to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. Over the last 20 years our commitment to innovative technology has earned the trust of more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions globally, solidifying our role in protecting the world’s critical infrastructure and securing our way of life.
About the Product
Secure File Gateway is a gateway that sits between a WAF and the web app backend. It ensures every uploaded file is scanned and sanitized by MetaDefender Core (via ICAP) before reaching the application; no WAF config changes needed. This solves the gap left by WAFs that don't support ICAP, or can't handle CDR-sanitized data.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and test SFG in C++ or Rust (Windows/Linux) as the transparent proxy between WAF and backend.
- Implement the core flow: intercept uploads → forward to MetaDefender Core over ICAP → return sanitized files, with low latency and high reliability.
- Build multi-threaded, high-concurrency networking components.
- Build and use agentic workflows (e.g., Claude Code, autonomous coding agents) daily for coding, testing, and debugging.
- Work within a Scrum team; collaborate with Product Management; do peer code reviews.
What We Need
- Strong OOP background (Java/C#), willing to learn/work in C++ or Rust.
- Solid multi-threading and network programming skills.
- Comfort with protocol/network-level concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP, proxying).
- Genuine interest in using AI tools in your dev workflow.
- Experience building or using multi-agents
- Good coding/debugging skills, strong communication, self-motivated.
Nice to Have
- ICAP protocol, reverse proxy / gateway experience.
- REST API design.
- Agile/Scrum, Git/Bitbucket/Jira/Confluence/TeamCity.
- DBMS (SQLite, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Windows/Linux dev experience.

Protecting the World’s Critical Infrastructure
OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage they need to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. Trusted by more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions worldwide — including many of the world’s largest governments, utilities, financial institutions, and defense contractors — OPSWAT protects the systems that keep society running.
The Product: MetaDefender Email Security
MetaDefender Email Security is OPSWAT’s email threat prevention portfolio, trusted by governments and critical infrastructure operators to stop file-borne and email-borne threats before they reach the inbox. It comprises two complementary products designed for different environments and customer profiles — MetaDefender Email Gateway Security, deployed on-premises in front of existing mail servers, and MetaDefender Cloud Email Security, which augments Microsoft 365 — each embedding OPSWAT’s threat prevention technology, including Deep CDR™ Technology, Metascan Multiscanning, Proactive DLP, and Predictive Alin AI, directly into the mail flow.
This role owns the engineering for the products across both deployment models — the on-premises gateway and the cloud-native Microsoft 365 service — each with its own security, assurance, and operational demands, and all built to scale.
About This Role
We are looking for a Director of Engineering who leads from the front. This is a hands-on, technically-centric leadership role — not a pure people-management position — with full accountability for the engineering of the MetaDefender Email Security: architecture, delivery, quality, and the teams that build it. You will lead engineering across multiple deployment form factors — from air-gapped high security environments to native-cloud deployments — operating with the rigor of a principal engineer and the clarity of an executive.
You are an AI-native engineering leader. You have personally orchestrated fleets of AI agents to architect, build, test, and ship production systems, and you have launched and released real products through a full AI-powered software development lifecycle (SDLC) — from specification and code generation to automated testing, review, and deployment. Product Management defines what to ship; you define how to build it. You own the end-to-end delivery of the roadmap Product Management sets, hold the delivery bar, and build a high-performance culture the rest of OPSWAT’s engineering portfolio will look to as a model for AI-native development. You report to the VP, Products and lead a distributed team across Romania and Hungary, while the role itself can be based anywhere — with a preference for the UK, USA, or near an OPSWAT-operated location.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead as an AI-first effort: make AI agents a first-class part of how the team works — orchestrating agents to create specs, generate code and tests, verify results, and run reviews — while ensuring humans own and validate every line that ships. Treat automation and intelligence as the default, not the exception.
- Stay hands-on: remain directly in the codebase — setting architecture patterns, writing and reviewing critical code, prototyping, and unblocking hard technical problems. You lead by doing, not only by delegating.
- Own end-to-end delivery of the roadmap: take full ownership of delivering the product roadmap set by Product Management — turning the “what to ship” into the “how to build,” and owning execution sequencing, technical risk, quality, security, and release across every deployment form factor.
- Set technical direction (the “how”): drive the architecture and technology choices that underpin a product serving high-assurance environments at scale. Hold a strong engineering point of view and be willing to defend it.
- Build and lead a high-performance team: recruit, develop, and retain top engineers and their leads across Romania and Hungary; create clear career paths and norms for code quality and review; and build a culture where strong engineers want to stay and grow.
- Drive performance-based management: set clear, measurable expectations and run a rigorous, fair performance culture — recognizing and accelerating top performers, raising the bar continuously, and addressing underperformance decisively by coaching where there is a path and upgrading or exiting the role where there is not.
- Hold a security-first quality bar: champion code review with a security lens for both human-written and AI-generated code, catching injection risks, insecure defaults, missing validation, and privilege-escalation vectors in file-handling and authentication paths before they ship.
- Raise engineering velocity: continuously improve how the team works — CI/CD pipelines, AI-assisted development workflows, incident response, and operational maturity — so the team ships faster and more reliably over time.
- Codify AI-native practices for the portfolio: establish the playbooks, AI context files, coding harnesses, test frameworks, and review norms developed on this product so other OPSWAT product teams can adopt them.
- Partner cross-functionally: work shoulder-to-shoulder with the VP, Products, plus Product Management, Design, and security leaders — turning the product roadmap (the what) into engineering execution (the how), committing to scope and timelines, and pushing back clearly when trade-offs require it.
What We Need From You
- Full agentic development experience (required): You have personally run a full agentic, AI-powered SDLC end-to-end — and have done so in B2B and high-security enterprise environments where compliance, data sensitivity, and assurance requirements are non-negotiable. You can show real work (PRs, commit history, shipped products, or a portfolio) where agentic workflows drove delivery — not slideware about AI.
- A product launched via a full AI-powered SDLC: demonstrable experience taking a product from spec to release using an end-to-end AI-assisted lifecycle (spec generation, code/test generation, automated verification, AI-assisted review, and CI/CD), with you accountable for the outcome.
- Proven engineering leadership: 8+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years leading engineering teams (including managing managers/leads) through complex product delivery at scale. You can point to the decisions you made and why.
- Performance-based leadership: a track record of building high-performing teams through rigorous, fair performance management — promoting excellence, making timely talent decisions, and reducing or replacing low performers when needed.
- Deep technical excellence: strong, current software engineering fundamentals — solid command of design patterns, SOLID principles, and modern architecture. You can evaluate AI-assisted code with the same rigor as human-authored code. AI tools amplify strong fundamentals; they do not replace them.
- Scalable systems experience: a proven history building scalable, distributed solutions — including relational/document databases, cloud-native services, and modern CI/CD systems.
- Quality and test discipline: a high bar for tested, maintainable code; you use AI to accelerate test scaffolding, then validate that coverage is real and meaningful.
- Distributed-team leadership: demonstrated ability to lead and align engineers across countries and time zones, building trust, clarity, and accountability in a remote/hybrid, multi-country setup.
- Talent magnet and clear communicator: you identify strong engineers, make a compelling case for why they should join, and create an environment where they do their best work — and you communicate technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders without oversimplifying.
- Security-conscious by default: operating in critical infrastructure markets means security is never an afterthought; you hold the team to a security-first bar on design, code review, and incident response.
It Would Be Nice If You Had
- Domain familiarity: understanding of email as a communication channel and the underlying technology and protocols. Appreciation of the different deployment methods for email security and their characteristics.
- Cloud services familiarity: experience of integrating products with M365 and/or Google Workspace and their associated API ecosystems
- .NET / C# ecosystem: hands-on or managerial experience with .NET Core / C# — enough to evaluate architectural decisions, review PRs credibly, and hire well for the stack.
- Cloud-native and containers: experience leading the design or operation of cloud-native SaaS platforms — Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/Azure/GCP — including using AI agents to script infrastructure and deployment automation.
- AI context-file authoring: experience writing AI context files (e.g., CLAUDE.md, .cursorrules, or equivalent) that encode architecture decisions and forbidden patterns for consistent, safe AI output across a team.
- AI in CI/CD pipelines: familiarity running AI agents inside pipelines — auto-fixing lint, generating missing tests, or running safe migrations as pipeline steps — not as experiments, but as how the team actually works.
- International team experience: a track record of building and maintaining engineering culture and delivery quality across multiple countries and time zones.
- Async and high-throughput systems: experience validating concurrency and thread-safety in high-throughput services.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Lead a product trusted by critical infrastructure customers across air-gapped, cross-domain, internet-connected, and native-cloud deployments — the architecture and culture decisions you make now will shape it for years.
- Influence beyond this product: the AI-native patterns you establish will propagate across OPSWAT’s engineering portfolio.
- Work from anywhere — a worldwide, remote-friendly role with a preference for the UK, USA, or a location near an OPSWAT-operated country.
- Stable, growing international company with an exceptional customer base across 50+ countries.
- A mandate to build AI-native engineering practices — and the latitude to do it your way.
- Attractive compensation with regular performance assessments and flexibility for the right candidate.

Director of Software Engineering - My OPSWAT Portal
Product Engineering
Vietnam
Summary
OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage needed to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. Over the last 20 years our commitment to innovative technology has earned the trust of more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions globally, solidifying our role in protecting the world’s critical infrastructure and securing our way of life.
The Platform: My OPSWAT
Every OPSWAT customer, partner, and prospect meets us here first.
My OPSWAT is the unified front door to everything OPSWAT delivers, the place where a nuclear plant operator activates an offline license, where a channel partner manages a portfolio of customer deployments, where a security engineer opens a critical support case at 2 a.m., where a new administrator earns their first OPSWAT Academy certification, and where organizations control exactly who inside their walls can do each of those things.
My OPSWAT is where OPSWAT's commercial model, customer experience, partner ecosystem, and product portfolio converge into one system. When it is excellent, every other product in the portfolio feels easier to buy, deploy, and trust.
About This Role
We are looking for a Director of Software Engineering to own the engineering of the My OPSWAT platform end to end: architecture, delivery, quality, security, and the team that builds it.
This is a hands-on, technically centric leadership role. Not a pure people-management position, and not a role that leads through status decks. You will operate with the rigor of a principal engineer and the clarity of an executive: in the codebase enough to earn your team's respect, in the business enough to make the right trade-offs, and in front of customers and partners enough to know what actually matters.
And you are an AI-native engineering leader. Not someone who has evaluated AI tools, someone who has personally orchestrated fleets of AI agents to specify, build, test, review, and ship production software, and who has shipped real products through a full agentic SDLC. You have opinions about context engineering, evals, and review gates because you have been burned and learned. Product Management defines what to ship; you define how it gets built, and at OPSWAT, "how" increasingly means humans directing AI agents, with humans accountable for every line that ships.
The patterns you establish on My OPSWAT won't stay on My OPSWAT. This platform connects and enables the company’s all products and business functions, which makes it the natural proving ground for AI-native engineering practices at OPSWAT.
What You Will Own
- Lead the AI agentic transformation.
- Stay hands-on, be creative and innovative.
- Own the platform.
- Own delivery.
- Connect business, engineering, product, and people.
- Build a team people want to be on.
What We Need From You
- Full agentic SDLC experience.
- A track record of bringing a team along.
- 10+ years engineering and 5+ years leading teams including managing managers or leads.
- Deep technical fundamentals distributed systems, API design, data modeling.
- Cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS experience in build and operation.
- Business and customer instinct.
- Excellent English communication.
It Would Be Nice If You Had
- Domain familiarity.
- AI product features, not just AI development experience.
- Cybersecurity background.
- Experience in a global product company with engineering and go-to-market spread across regions.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- My OPSWAT touches every customer, every partner, every business unit, and every product line. The architecture and culture decisions you make now will shape it for years.
- The AI-native patterns you establish here are intended to propagate across OPSWAT's engineering portfolio.
- Leadership is committed to AI agentic engineering and wants a leader who will push further than the mandate, not ask permission to start.
- A stable, growing international company with an exceptional customer base across 50+ countries.
- Attractive compensation with regular performance assessments, and flexibility for the right candidate.
Your First 90 Days
- Day 30 - Credibility and context. Know the architecture, identify the top constraints holding it back, and the health of your team. Working relationships established with Product, Support, Enterprise Applications and Engineering.
- Day 60 - A point of view. Present an architecture and AI-native transformation plan with sequencing and trade-offs. Baseline the metrics below so progress is measurable, not asserted.
- Day 90 - Execution underway. Agentic workflows live on at least one meaningful workstream, with context files, evals, and review gates in place. Delivery commitments made and being met.
Success Metrics (6 - 12 months)
Platform and customers
- Full agentic My OPSWAT platform.
- Improved usability and reliability on the flows customers and partners live in daily.
- Reduced support volume on the friction points you inherited.
- Positive, sustained feedback from executives, product, engineering, support, and other stakeholders.
AI agentic engineering
- A majority of delivery flows through AI agentic workflows, with documented context, evals, and review gates.
- Measurable lead-time reduction from spec to production.
Delivery and quality
- Predictable releases: committed scope and dates met, trade-offs raised early.
- Escaped-defect and production-incident rates down as AI-generated code share rises.
- Zero critical security findings reaching production.
Team and influence
- Strong retention and a visibly rising hiring bar.
- Every engineer on the team working as an AI orchestrator, not an observer.

The Position
You'll build and lead the small founding team — engineers and data scientists — behind something genuinely hard: high-throughput services that inspect live traffic at near-zero latency, and applied ML that runs in the critical path. You're here from person one, which means you don't inherit a culture or a bar — you set them. Who you hire and how they work is the product's first and most important architecture decision.
This is a player-coach role with real surface area. You're close enough to the systems and the models to earn your team's trust, and you own the thing that matters most: whether this team ships, and whether what it ships holds up in production. Small team, huge leverage, nowhere to hide — in the best way.
AI-native leadership. Non-negotiable. You don't just use AI yourself — you build, hire, and coach a team that operates at 10x with it, and you hold that bar. Demonstrable AI proficiency is a hard requirement.
What You'll Own
You own your team's outcomes end to end — what it delivers, how healthy it is in production, and how fast its people grow. You set technical and cultural direction alongside your lead engineers, make the calls that unblock rather than bottleneck, and own the hiring bar from the first req to the tenth. When the path is undefined, you're the one who creates clarity and a plan; when it ships, you're accountable for it behaving exactly as intended, not just passing in staging.
Who You Are
- You lead from the front — hands-on enough that strong engineers respect your judgment, secure enough to let them fully own their work.
- You hire relentlessly and hold a high bar, and you'd rather leave a seat open than fill it with "good enough."
- You grow people — you turn strong individual contributors into force multipliers, and you measure yourself by what your team ships without you in the room.
- You own the result, not the excuse — you take responsibility for delivery and for what runs in production, and you create clarity where there was ambiguity.
- "Good enough" makes you uncomfortable, for the product and for the team you're building.
What You Bring
- Proven, demonstrable AI-native leadership — you personally operate at 10x with AI, and you build, hire, and coach a team that does the same, making AI leverage a standard rather than an experiment.
- 8-10+ years in engineering, including real time leading teams that shipped and operated production systems people depended on.
- Genuine technical depth — you came up through building, and you can still go deep on systems, ML, or both, well enough to guide hard calls and review the work.
- A track record of hiring and growing high-performing engineers and data scientists, and of setting a bar a team is proud to clear.
- The ability to own delivery of an ambiguous, high-stakes charter end to end without trading away quality or the production bar.

The Position
We're assembling a small founding team to build something genuinely hard: high-throughput services that inspect live traffic, terminate and analyze TLS in the data path, and hold near-zero latency while doing it. This is real systems engineering — streaming, distributed, latency-obsessed — not another CRUD app behind a form.
You won't be starting cold. You inherit real infrastructure and real users, which means what you build reaches production in weeks, not years. The work is high-leverage from day one, and there's nowhere to hide — in the best way.
AI-native. Non-negotiable. You leverage AI to operate as a 10x engineer — demonstrable AI proficiency is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have.
What You'll Own
You take a capability from a rough idea all the way to production, and then you keep it alive and healthy there — meeting its latency and reliability targets, instrumented well enough to prove it, and hardened to survive real load and real failure. You own the outcome, not the ticket. You'll lead a functional area end to end: set its technical direction, make the calls that matter, and pull other engineers along with you.
Who You Are
- You see what needs to exist and you go build it — you spot the gap, scope it yourself, and start, instead of waiting for someone to hand you a task or a spec.
- You lead by taking the hardest, least-defined part of the problem and making it work, and others follow because your judgment and output earn it — not because of a title.
- You own the entire arc — design, build, ship, operate — and you treat what happens in production as your responsibility, making sure the system behaves exactly within the parameters it's supposed to, not just that it passed in staging.
- When you hit the edge of what you know — a protocol you've never touched, a failure mode you've never seen — curiosity and sheer grit carry you across it faster than most people expect.
- "Good enough" makes you uncomfortable; you hold a high bar for yourself and ship work you're genuinely proud to put your name on.
What You Bring
- Proven, demonstrable proficiency using AI as a force multiplier — you already operate as a 10x engineer, orchestrating AI tools and agents to design, build, and ship far beyond what you could alone, while keeping the judgment to know what "correct" actually looks like.
- 5–7+ years building and operating production services and front ends, with real experience owning something end to end and carrying the weight of it once it's in front of real users.
- Hands-on experience with TLS / MITM inspection and the security-sensitive edge cases that come with sitting in the middle of live traffic.
- A real track record of taming latency in streaming and distributed systems — you've chased down p99 tail latency and know that "fast on my machine" means nothing until it's fast in production, under load, with observability to back it up.
- Strong command of a modern backend language (Go, Rust, or TypeScript/Node) and React/TypeScript on the front end, with a deep working grasp of HTTP, TLS, gRPC/REST, and async/streaming I/O.

Machine Learning Engineer
Product Engineering
Vietnam
Summary
OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage needed to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. Over the last 20 years our commitment to innovative technology has earned the trust of more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions globally, solidifying our role in protecting the world’s critical infrastructure and securing our way of life.
The Position
MetaDefender Core is OPSWAT's file security platform, trusted where the stakes are highest: nuclear plants, defense networks, and the banks that move the world's money. The most sensitive of those customers cannot send a single byte to anyone's cloud, so the AI must run entirely on their hardware, inside the product.
This role is for the engineer who would rather own a model than call someone else: you build the training data, the fine-tuning, the evaluation, and you make the call on what ships. Every AI assistant you have ever used lives in a data center; yours will run on the customer's own hardware, inside some of the most protected networks in the world.
What You Will be Doing
- Own the model track end to end: training data, fine-tuning runs, evaluation, and release, with scope and ownership growing by level.
- Build and maintain the evaluation gate for every model to change and make it something the team trusts more than its own intuition.
- Build the data pipelines that produce training datasets, enforcing grounding so the model can only state what it has actually read.
- Shape how the agent behaves: its instructions, its tool contracts, and how it recovers when the model gets something wrong.
- Own the model's security posture: harden it against prompt injection and misuse, make sure it never exposes internal information, and never lets itself be steered into guiding users toward unsafe actions.
- Serve models on constrained customer hardware: quantization, inference runtimes, and the memory / latency / quality trade-off.
- Ship into a production Rust service, collaborating closely with the engineering team, Product Management, and QA.
What We Need from You
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience fine-tuning open-weight LLMs (LoRA/QLoRA or similar).
- Strong Python, including building data pipelines for training datasets.
- Experience keeping model output grounded: retrieval-backed generation, hallucination control, and output traceable to a source the model reads.
- Experience with LLM serving and inference (e.g. vLLM, Ollama), including quantization and the memory / latency / quality trade-off on constrained hardware.
- Familiarity with tool-calling / agent-based LLM applications.
- Ability to design and run model evaluations for non-deterministic systems: you can name a metric you designed and the number you moved.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English: the language of the team, the docs, and the prompts.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable owning a track in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
It Would be Nice if You Had
- Rust literacy (able to read and modify existing service code).
- Experience with agent frameworks (e.g. ADK-style).
- Awareness of LLM security risks: prompt injection, data leakage, misuse.
- Compact models deployed on-premises, offline, or resource-constrained environments.
- Evaluation tooling for LLM systems: LLM-as-judge, regression suites, human review loops.
- Cybersecurity concepts, or experience building components of a security product.

Senior Product Manager - MetaDefender Kiosk Desktop
Product
Tampa
About the Role
MetaDefender Kiosk is OPSWAT's security checkpoint for removable and peripheral media at the boundary of critical infrastructure - a combined hardware and software product, not a feature set. This role owns it end to end: vision, roadmap, hardware platform, security workflows, integration with My OPSWAT Central Management, certification and compliance, quality, cost, and commercial performance.
The Senior Product Manager partners daily with hardware and software engineering, QA (Quality Assurance), manufacturing, supply chain, support, sales, and customers in the field. Success in the first twelve months means measurable movement on product growth, competitive win rate, hardware reliability and RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) rates, gross margin, Central Management adoption, and time to deploy - not the volume of requirements written.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the vision, strategy, roadmap, requirements, packaging, competitive position, and lifecycle of the MetaDefender Kiosk hardware line across form factors, with initial focus on the Kiosk Desktop series
- Own the hardware platform with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain - industrial design, performance, interfaces, thermals, component selection, BOM (Bill of Materials) and product cost, reliability, serviceability, and next-generation platforms
- Own certification and compliance as a product deliverable - safety and emissions including FCC (Federal Communications Commission), CE (Conformité Européenne) and UL (Underwriters Laboratories), environmental compliance including RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals), and supply chain provenance including TAA (Trade Agreements Act) and NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) Section 889 with country-of-origin documentation - and sequence that work so certification never becomes the constraint on a launch date
- Know the hardware failure rate, why units are returned, which components create problems, and what customers love and hate about the physical product
- Own pricing and the licensing model for the line - hardware plus subscription structures, support tiers, refresh and trade-in motions, and how the model evolves as the installed base grows - working with Finance on margin and Legal on terms
- Define the product data and telemetry strategy for the fleet: what the appliance reports, how it reports it, and how OPSWAT builds real usage insight from customers running isolated and air-gapped deployments where conventional telemetry is not an option
- Drive deep integration with My OPSWAT Central Management so customers running hundreds or thousands of units manage a fleet, not appliances — enrollment, policy distribution, updates, health, diagnostics, reporting, licensing, role-based access, and APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) across connected and isolated deployments
- Own the security experience across the MetaDefender® platform - Multiscanning, Deep CDR™ Technology, AI-powered malware detection, sandboxing, Proactive DLP™ Technology, file vulnerability detection, media validation, and policy enforcement — and turn those technologies into workflows an operator finds simple
- Work AI-natively with engineering: use modern AI and agentic tools to research problems, explore architectures, build prototypes and proofs of concept, analyze product data and logs, and validate ideas before committing significant engineering resource
- Continuously reduce clicks, training, deployment time, and support cases across installation, activation, authentication, scan workflows, results, file transfer, updates, and troubleshooting
- Equip the field and the channel - positioning, competitive framing, demo and evaluation configurations, partner-ready collateral, and launch readiness — and act as the escalation point for field and partner technical questions on the hardware line
- Spend time on customer sites across energy, manufacturing, defense, government, transportation, and healthcare, watching how technicians, OT (Operational Technology) engineers, and administrators actually move data across security boundaries
- Own quality - treat every recurring product problem as a product management problem and drive root cause to resolution with engineering, QA, manufacturing, and support
- Own the business and the market - revenue, pipeline, win rate, installed base, ASP (Average Selling Price), hardware cost, gross margin, and attach rates - and know every serious alternative a customer could choose instead of OPSWAT
Qualifications
- Seven or more years in product management, including proven ownership of a technically sophisticated product from strategy through delivery, adoption, and growth
- Direct experience with products that combine hardware and software - appliances, devices, or edge systems - including cost, quality, and manufacturing readiness
- Experience taking hardware products through regulatory certification and supply chain provenance requirements, including FCC, CE, UL, RoHS, REACH, and TAA or NDAA Section 889 country-of-origin obligations
- Technical depth sufficient to hold meaningful conversations about hardware architecture, Windows and Linux, networking, APIs, security, system performance, logs, deployment, and enterprise management
- Demonstrated AI-native working style, with concrete examples of using AI and agentic tools to research, prototype, analyze, test, document, and collaborate with engineering — an expectation of this role, not a nice-to-have
- Strong customer instinct and willingness to travel up to 25%, including customer and partner sites in industrial and operational environments and visits to contract manufacturers, with the judgment to separate what customers ask for from the problem they need solved
- Commercial ownership mindset across adoption, revenue, competitive win rate, quality, cost, margin, and customer satisfaction
- Bias toward action - able to make good decisions without perfect information and keep engineering moving
- Professional fluency in English
Nice-to-Have
- Cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, or OT and industrial environments
- Security appliances, removable media security, or edge computing
- Hardware product development, manufacturing, supply chain, or failure analysis
- Security and functional safety certification in a critical infrastructure context - FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) 140-3, Common Criteria, or IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) 62443
- Centralized device or fleet management platforms
- Malware prevention, file security, or enterprise security software

Software Engineering Manager - MFT
Product Engineering
Vietnam
Summary
OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage needed to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. - Development experience on Windows, Linux platforms
It Would be Nice if You Had
- Areal track record shipping and maintaining production systems, in any tech-stack.
- Hands-on Rust or C++ - shortens your ramp, does not gate the door
- Building AI agents or agentic pipelines yourself: tool contracts, structured output, multi-step orchestration

Most companies are still debating whether their engineers may use AI. Here, it is the operating model.
What You Will be Doing
- Contribute to features end to end: clarify requirements, participate in design discussions, implement, test, debug, and help ship features, with ownership growing as you develop.
- Use AI as part of your daily engineering workflow: work with tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot to accelerate implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation, while reviewing and validating AI-generated output before it ships.
- Contribute to the team's AI-assisted development workflow: help improve agent configurations, prompt/context templates (e.g., CLAUDE.md and project rules), MCP integrations, and guardrails.
- Write and improve tests and quality checks that verify intended behavior, catch regressions, and help make AI-generated code production-ready.
- Build and share effective AI-assisted engineering practices with the team, including reusable prompts, workflows, and approaches for reviewing AI-generated code.
- Develop strong debugging skills by investigating issues that cannot easily be delegated to AI, from reproducing bugs and analyzing logs to diagnosing concurrency, OS, and environment-specific problems.
- Work across Windows and Linux environments, and gain exposure to cloud, containerized, on-premises, and air-gapped deployments.
- Prototype and evaluate AI-powered product capabilities, such as LLM-assisted analysis, automated triage, or AI-assisted support for new integrations.
- Collaborate with Product Management and QA to understand requirements, make technical trade-offs, and deliver reliable product features.
What We Need from You
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 1+ years of professional experience with a track record of feature ownership.
- Good understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and common design patterns
- Experience with multi-threaded programming and system design
- Excellent coding and debugging skills, including comfort navigating a large existing codebase and diagnosing issues across OS boundaries (processes, services, permissions)
- An AI-native development mindset: hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and agentic tools in real development work, with the judgment to review, verify, and test AI-generated code before it ships.
- Working knowledge of LLM fundamentals: prompt and context design, tool/function calling, evaluating outputs, and data-privacy considerations when using AI on proprietary code
- Hands-on experience in design reviews
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts.
- Good English is a plus point.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Development experience on Windows, Linux platforms
It Would be Nice if You Had
- A real track record shipping and maintaining production systems, in any tech-stack.
- Hands-on Rust or C++ - shortens your ramp, does not gate the door
- Building AI agents or agentic pipelines yourself: tool contracts, structured output, multi-step orchestration
- Performance profiling; networking (OSI)
- Cybersecurity concepts, or components of a security product
- Hands-on experience with DBMS (e.g. SQLite, PostgreSQL)
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

Director of Engineering — MetaDefender Email Security
Reports to: VP, Products

What We Need From You
- Full agentic development experience (required): you have personally run a full agentic, AI-powered SDLC end to end — and have done so in B2B and high-security enterprise environments where compliance, data sensitivity, and assurance requirements are non-negotiable.
- Domain familiarity: experience with managed file transfer, secure content delivery, data security, or critical infrastructure markets — you understand the trade-offs customers in this space make.

Over the last 20 years our commitment to innovative technology has earned the trust of more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions globally, solidifying our role in protecting the world’s critical infrastructure and securing our way of life.
The Position

Over the last 20 years our commitment to innovative technology has earned the trust of more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions globally, solidifying our role in protecting the world’s critical infrastructure and securing our way of life.
The Position

At OPSWAT, we’re on a mission to protect the world’s most critical infrastructure. As a U.S.-based cybersecurity leader, we’re expanding our R&D footprint in Vietnam — and we’re looking for a passionate, hands-on Associate Software Engineering Manager to lead development for one of our most strategic solutions: MetaDefender Secure Managed File Transfer.
MetaDefender Secure MFT empowers enterprises to securely transfer sensitive files across systems, networks, and borders. Trusted by governments and global organizations, we are at the heart of secure data movement — and we’re expanding its future in Ho Chi Minh City.
This role isn’t just about managing people — it’s about leading innovation, owning architecture, and growing a full-stack engineering team in a critical product space. Above all, it’s about pioneering an AI-first, agentic engineering practice where AI agents and human engineers work together — with the goal of progressively moving toward an organization where the vast majority of code is generated and maintained through AI-driven agentic workflows.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build, lead, and mentor a full-stack engineering team working on MetaDefender Secure Managed File Transfer.
- Drive an AI-first, agentic engineering culture — define how the team uses AI coding agents and agentic workflows day-to-day, with a clear roadmap toward the majority of production code being AI-generated under strong human review and governance.
- Design, operate, and continuously improve agentic development pipelines (planning, code generation, automated testing, review, and remediation) and the guardrails — context engineering, evals, and quality gates — that keep AI-generated code secure and reliable.
- Coach engineers to become effective orchestrators of AI agents — moving the team from manual coding toward specifying, supervising, and validating work executed by agents.
- Guide the design and implementation of secure, scalable backend systems (C#/.NET) and modern frontend interfaces (React, Angular, or Vue).
- Collaborate with global teams — from Vietnam to the U.S. — to shape the product roadmap and execute major initiatives.
- Champion software quality, performance, and usability while driving innovation across the stack.
- Foster a team culture built on trust, learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends in cybersecurity, secure coding, and AI-assisted and agentic software development.
- Ensure your team is building with a strong focus on secure architecture, compliance, and real-world reliability — including for AI-generated code.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as an engineering manager or tech lead, with proven success leading and growing full-stack development teams.
- Required: hands-on experience with AI development and agentic workflows — using AI coding agents and tools (e.g., agentic IDEs, coding assistants, agent SDKs/frameworks) to ship real production software.
- Required: a track record of driving an engineering team to adopt and scale agentic AI workflows — establishing the practices, prompts/context, evals, review gates, and metrics needed to safely increase the share of AI-generated code over time.
- Strong hands-on experience in both backend (.NET/C#) and frontend (React, Angular) technologies.
- Ability to effectively monitor and assess team productivity — including the throughput and quality of AI-assisted work — ensuring alignment with project goals and timely delivery of high-quality results.
- Solid understanding of system architecture, enterprise integration, and secure development best practices.
- Experience with secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS) and deployment across Windows and Linux environments.
- Familiarity with .NET Core, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Excellent English communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Ability to manage complexity, prioritize work, and lead with empathy and clarity.
- Experience working with international teams and managing cross-border collaboration.
Why OPSWAT?
At OPSWAT, we’re not just building products — we’re protecting the systems the world depends on. MetaDefender Managed File Transfer is one of our fastest-growing solutions, and this is your opportunity to lead its future — and to build one of our first truly AI-first, agentic engineering teams — from the heart of Vietnam’s thriving tech scene.
You’ll join a company that values innovation, impact, and integrity — and a team that’s growing fast with the support of a global organization. If you’re ready to lead, mentor, and build secure software that matters in the age of AI, let’s make it happen — together.
