The Position
MetaDefender Industrial Firewall by OPSWAT is a purpose-built security solution designed to protect OT and ICS environments. It provides deep packet inspection for industrial protocols, AI-driven policy generation, and high-performance, low-latency protection to ensure both security and operational continuity.
We are looking for a Junior QA Engineer to support the quality assurance of OPSWAT’s cybersecurity products. In this role, you will work closely with experienced team members and be involved in different stages of the software development lifecycle, with opportunities to learn both manual and automation testing.
What You Will Be Doing
- Execute manual test cases and support automated testing activities
- Review product requirements and clarify test scenarios with the team
- Write and maintain basic test cases and test documentation
- Perform different types of testing, including: functional testing, integration testing, API testing (basic level), regression testing and usability testing
- Support automation tasks using Python (with guidance from senior team members)
- Identify, document, and track bugs clearly
- Assist in reproducing issues and supporting troubleshooting when needed
What We Need From You
- 0–2 years of experience in software testing or a strong interest in QA
- Basic understanding of software testing concepts and QA processes
- Familiarity with Linux environment and web application testing
- Basic programming knowledge in Python or willingness to learn automation
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., Routing, Switching, VPN is a plus)
- Willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude
- Familiarity with using AI tools to improve productivity
- Good written English communication skills
It Would Be Nice If You Had
- Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Git, or CI/CD tools like TeamCity
- Exposure to test automation or scripting
- Basic knowledge or interest in cybersecurity or networking

As a specialized cybersecurity solution, MetaDefender Kiosk is designed to rigorously manage and fortify the secure flow of data originating from diverse removable media devices, such as USB drives, CDs/DVDs, SD cards, and floppy disks, into an organization's network. - Cybersecurity or critical infrastructure experience: Understanding compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, Common Criteria), regulated deployments, and security-first architecture.
- Experience scaling a platform from partial to full adoption across a multi-product portfolio. You’ve navigated the technical debt, org politics, and prioritization battles this requires.
- Open-source or inner-source model experience: Building contribution frameworks that enable distributed teams to extend platform capabilities.
