The Position

At OPSWAT, we’re on a mission to protect the world’s most critical infrastructure. As a U.S.-based cybersecurity leader, we’re expanding our R&D footprint in Hungary — and we’re looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our team working on one of our most strategic solutions: Proactive Data Loss Prevention (Proactive DLP)

Proactive DLP can help enterprises to prevent potential data breaches and regulatory compliance violations. Trusted by governments and global organizations, we are at the heart of secure data movement — and we’re expanding its future in Veszprém.
You’ll take part in designing and building the backend services that power our secure file transfer platform, working closely with engineers, security experts, and researchers.  

As part of our cybersecurity-focused company, you will play a crucial role in testing cutting-edge software solutions aimed at protecting critical infrastructure from cyber threats.  Your work will make a real impact — defending the digital front lines of industries, governments, and essential systems around the world.
If you’re experienced in backend development, interested in cybersecurity, and excited to make real-world impact by protecting critical infrastructure, this is your opportunity.

You Will Have The Opportunity to

  • Collaborate with a diverse and skilled team of engineers, security experts and researchers.
  • Develop or test responsive and interactive user interfaces for our cybersecurity software products using C++, Python.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following established coding standards and development methodologies. 
  • Actively participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-up meetings, and retrospectives, to contribute to team goals and deliver high-quality software products. 
  • Assist with data collection, preprocessing, and basic feature engineering for machine learning use cases

What We Are Looking For 

  • Ongoing IT-related university studies at the University of Pannonia, Veszprém
  • Practical use of IT skills learned at university
  • Basic programming knowledge
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Ability to work 20-30 hours /week after the University Practice
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and flexibility
