MetaDefender Storage Security offers a robust layer of protection for On-Prem and Cloud Storage. It protects enterprise stored data from data breaches, downtime, and compliance violations in cloud and on-premises storage and collaboration solutions like OneDrive, Box, Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure, Cloudian, Dell EMC, and any S3 or SMB compatible storage.
MetaDefender Storage Security leverages multiple OPSWAT technologies to protect stored files, documents, and images from Zero-Day attacks (Deep Content Disarm and Reconstruction), advanced threats (Multiscanning), and sensitive data loss (Proactive Data Loss Prevention).
Release Highlights
MetaDefender Storage Security now supports customized tags for AWS S3 and other S3 compatible units. It is also possible to select which tag to be applied after a scan.
This release offers more security options for SMTP configuration like STARTTLS support or SSL on connect.

- Symbolic links for Linux shares are enabled via a configuration variable that enables symlinks after Linux-based file shares.
- Report retention and cleanup can be managed automatically by specifying the number of days to keep a report.
- It is now possible to add the same MD Core server multiple times for different configuration rules.
- Improved performance for Box units with complicated folder structures including those with multiple nested directories.
- File search for S3 has been fixed so paths relative to the configured folder location are now accepted.
- The license page status display has been enhanced with information about usage and limits.
