As a skilled and passionate Machine Learning Engineer in the Deep CDR team at OPSWAT, you will design, build, and deploy highly effective and efficient machine learning models that solve real-world problems in cybersecurity. You will take responsibility for the full ML lifecycle — from data exploration and model architecture design to training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring — powering scalable back-end engines that process millions of files daily.
You’ll collaborate closely with product owners and software engineers to bring intelligent capabilities into our applications and platforms.

What You Will be Doing
- Get to know business or product requirements and translate them into machine learning problems.
- Collect, preprocess, clean, and label large datasets when needed.
- Perform feature engineering and select or design model architectures appropriate for the tasks.
- Train, fine-tune, and evaluate deep learning/machine learning models (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement). Optimize model performance and runtime efficiency.
- Build data pipelines and model deployment workflows and work with product teams for productionizing models.
- Contribute to product feature development to gain a deeper understanding of our systems — enabling smoother integration and deployment of machine learning components.
What We Need from You
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or related fields.
- Strong technical background in machine learning, deep learning, and data science.

What You Will Be Doing
Collaborate with a developer team and QA team to develop and operate the product

Implement and maintain Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration, ensuring scalability and high availability.

About the Role

Detection Accuracy – hunt for misleading sandbox reports and ensure proper sample classification.
Threat Detection Service – review, triage, and resolve detection inaccuracies reported by customers.
Technical Initiatives – drive innovation to advance OPSWAT’s threat detection capabilities and maximize sandbox effectiveness.
Knowledge Sharing – promote collaboration within the team and across OPSWAT.
Automation – develop scripts and tools to streamline analysis workflows.
Research – stay on top of evolving malware trends, TTPs, and sandbox detection techniques.
What We Need From You
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
Advanced certifications (e.g., GREM, CEH, OSCP, or equivalent) are highly preferred.
Experience
2+ years in malware analysis, reverse engineering, or threat detection engineering.
Proven expertise in developing and tuning detection rules (YARA, SIGMA, IDS).
Skills & Competencies
Strong grasp of reverse engineering fundamentals.
Solid understanding of the cyber threat landscape and adversary techniques.
Experience with scripting for automation (Python strongly preferred).
Knowledge of malware techniques: packing, anti-analysis, injection, etc.
Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework for mapping TTPs.
Analytical mindset with a focus on actionable detection outcomes.
Clear and effective communication skills, able to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
It Would Be Nice If You Had
Hands-on background in sandbox-based malware analysis.
Participation in reverse engineering challenges (e.g., FLARE, HackTheBox).
Contributions to open-source or security research communities.****
