What does "Process files even if they are allowlisted" do in the Allowlist workflow settings?
This article applies to all MetaDefender Core V4 and V5 releases deployed on Windows systems.
The Allowlist is a feature that enables users to specify certain file types or individual files that are known to be safe and should be skipped from further scanning. This setting acts as a local whitelist, allowing trusted content to bypass security actions.
This feature provides flexibility for users who are confident in the safety of certain files but still want to maintain control over them. It also allows users to review and verify the content before confirming that a file can be safely excluded from future scans. One of the features focused here is the “Process files even if they are allowlisted”.

The test will represent the example of Process files even if they are allowlisted enable/disabled
The test file that will be used is the file that contains the eicar string for testing purposes. eicar.txt
#### Scenario 1 (Feature enabled)
Since we are using a TXT file type for this example, Allowlist for “Text files” will be on.
