Why am I experiencing a "Login Denied" error when attempting to send a test email for scan results from the MetaDefender Kiosk?
When you are configuring Email settings and receiving Login Denied error, this error is typically not coming from OPSWAT. There are a couple things that you can confirm to help resolve this issue:
- Confirm that the username and password are entered correctly and there are no extra spaces or characters being added by accident. Also, manually type the username and password instead of copying and pasting.
- Confirm that an App Password has been created for the SMTP account as necessary. Once an App password is created, then go ahead and re-enter the username and password.
- If you are still running into Login Denied error, go ahead and check the Email Server logs to see the exact cause of the error.
