After license renewal does the product activation happen automatically (if the license key is the same)?

This article applies to all MetaDefender V5 releases deployed on Windows and Linux systems.

In special situations where the renewal process is completed and the license values regarding products and expiration dates are changed (but the license key remains the same), new license information will be obtained and applied when triggering an online engine update.

For offline environments, users will need to go through the activation steps and generate a new yml. file.
