What data is logged by MetaDefender Cloud?

This article applies to all active MetaDefender Cloud license holders - whether your product is paid for or issued for evaluation purposes.

In the best interests of client privacy and data protection, MetaDefender Cloud does not log any personal identifiable information (PII) other than user IP addresses.

MetaDefender Cloud logs all REST API traffic, including:

  • Headers
  • Requests
  • Response bodies
  • Timestamps of requests

MetaDefender Cloud logs IP addresses and:

  • Stores them for 30 days for auditing purposes only
  • Converts them into geolocation data for purposes such as identifying the geo-regional origins of malware
