OPSWAT recently launched a malware sample sharing program for antivirus vendors whose engines are included in Metascan Online, a free online file scanning service that uses many engines in parallel.
Through the program, vendors receive invaluable data to help improve their engine's detection rates and decrease false positive reports. Anytime a scanned file is designated to be a false positive or false negative for their engine, an email including the sample is instantly emailed to them so they can make the appropriate updates and fixes.
